The Whole Darn Family - Seven Minutes Of Funk - Soul International Rec's 12"

Okay so it is a funk record, but if anyone does have a 12" copy languishing in a sales box I'd be happy to take it off your hands ... pm if you can help

Thx

Mike

Mike, I'm looking after the little'un at the moment while her mum's at the dentists, but I'm pretty sure that I still have a copy 'languishing' in storage.

Once mum's back I'll have a rake through and see what I can find. If I do still have it, it'll be almost mint as I can't recall playing it more than once or twice in the 30 years since I bought it!

Will let you know one way or the other...

Way over the top :wicked:

MIKE, WHAT ARE YOU EXPECTING TO PAY FOR IT THEN ?

IT'S ONE OF THE MOST SOUGHT AFTER TWELVES WORLDWIDE, £50 WOULD BE AN ABSOLUTE STEAL.

I'D BE SURPRISED IF THIS COPY SELLS FOR LESS THAN £80.

OF ALL THE UK DEALERS, THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE 90'S IM NOT EXAGGERATING WHEN I SAY I BELIEVE I WAS THE ONE WHO RUMMAGED THE HARDEST, AND WITH THE EXCEPTION OF GARY DENNIS BOUGHT THE HIGHEST NUMBER OF 12" COLLECTIONS, I HAVE ONLY EVER FOUND IT TWICE, THAT WAS BETWEEN 1991-1993.

WITHOUT THE INTERNET THIS IS A NEAR IMPOSSIBLE FIND. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THE COST DOWN THEN TRY THE LP, SAME FULL LENGTH VERSION, OR I BELIEVE THERE MAY BE A REISSUE 12.

I'm pretty sure I still have a 12" copy somewhere but the label is yellow and it didn't have "super special stereo disco" printed on the label.

Possibly an earlier issue? I know I bought it as a new release.

I'll have a search for it.

That's what I have, Paul (if I still have it) - it's on Soul International and like you I bought it as a new release.

BTW this record is not worth more than twenty quid, including P & P. There were literally hundreds and hundreds of copies imported into the UK in the mid 70s, by Record Corner alone, and most of them must still be out there somewhere. If I find mine I'll be selling it to Mike for substantially less than that.

Hello

I just had a quick look and I can't find my copy. Thirty minutes of searching for seven minutes of funk? I have some stuff stored elsewhere but I may well have sold it. And I agree with Tony, it shouldn't be too expensive.

IVE GOT ONE OF EACH OF THE YELLOW AND ORANGE RELEASES, BOTH WERE BOUGHT FROM COLLECTIONS FROM WORKING DJ'S WHO BOUGHT THEM AT THE TIME OF RELEASE, I CAN'T SPLIT THEM AS TO WHICH MIGHT BE THE FIRST PRESSING WHICH IS WHY IVE KEPT BOTH.

HEY TONE, THATS A CLASSIC : THIS RECORD IS NOT WORTH MORE THAN TWENTY QUID INC PP ???

IS THAT WHY IT JUST SOLD FOR £70 ON EBAY MATE ? THERE'S MORE THAN A SCORE SITTING HERE WAITING FOR YOUR COPY IF YOU REALLY MUST GIVE IT AWAY !

AS YOU SAY, THERE "WERE" HUNDREDS IMPORTED, BUT THAT WAS "WERE".

MARTIN
