Can find nothing online other than a couple of 'reports' on FB , I personally prefer a more reliable source , his demise was touted on Soulful Detroit in 2018 and that was false.

Err - this post is from 2019 and was the last time Jerry’s death was incorrectly posted.

Well that's because it's an archive page on the site ffs , I'm merely pointing out that Annette died in 2019 and therefore would have had a job reporting Jerry's passing on FB as per a previous posts claim ...

Hearing "One night affair" was a landmark moment for me. It got me buying Blues and Soul and starting a journey into the land of soul msic.

A singer with a distinctive voice of velvet.

Mr Butler, thank you for all your wonderful output during your distinguished career.

Not wanting to gate crash but on the site that you've posted it also says that Henry Farnborough the last surviving original member of The ( Detroit ) Spinners also passed away on Wednesday, also aged 85 . RIP Henry .

As everyone as said before me , Rip Jerry " The Ice man " Butler not just a great singer but a very helpful politician too .

 Moody Woman was one of the tracks that sparked my interest in Northern.  But over time I became aware of a wide ranging catalogue of top quality soul.  IMHO one of the greats.
