You Tuber With his List !! Downside of The Internet

Quite recently there is a you tuber (name not mentioned)  who visit's Record shops in the US  looking for old records mainly as much northern as possible ,  some person from the UK has sent him the list of Titles (top 500)

He films his dig as a programme on you tube!!    from time to time he does find things and sells them on Discogs     to him and many others it is a way to make some money  ! He is not driven by anything other than money ,no soul ,no integrity just purely commercial gain .

Once upon a time a trip to the states was the holy grail for committed record collectors  alas not so anymore with these types  ,just an observation not making any points .

Keep dancing ,its good for the soul !

He might mean this guy

Watched a couple of his vids and he did have a NS list from a guy in the UK

He seems pretty clueless to me.

There was a guy "I buy old records" who posted a lot of vids too but he moved to Argentina so none recently He was quite witty. He was more into rockabilly but he'd pick up anything interesting. Finding Al Wilson and Honeybees sticks in my mind.

The guy who went to Argentina was Mack Stevens (I think). Bought a few bits & pieces off when he used to sell at Austin Record Show.

Hardly surprising given the amount of information out there. He’s probably missed the boat anyway - all the major music centres were cleaned out long ago. The trick these days is to look for records that are unlisted, unknown and have hidden qualities. If this guy finds cheap common sounds, good luck to him.

There is another guy does these videos from Texas but he goes after late 50's early 60's type stuff from thrift stores. Its interesting to watch but sometimes I find myself shouting at the PC as he goes past what could be some really interesting soul stuff. He does know a bit as one video he found a Ruby - Feminine Ingenuity, and he knew it was 'that northern soul which the UK guys like' 🤑
