Stephen Houghton Posted Monday at 16:06 Posted Monday at 16:06 Does the scene think that a silent soul doo would catch on yes or no
Twoshoes Posted Monday at 16:47 Posted Monday at 16:47 I would hope not, i think it's the shared enjoyment, watching the different styles of dancing to the same record and the discussions that arise, everyone listening to different records with headphones on, not for me. 1 1
Rhino Posted Monday at 17:02 Posted Monday at 17:02 Might be a bit for headphones but it wouldn't work in my opinion as atmosphere would be flat and what makes the event in my honest opinion. The idea been around a good few years and I've never seen it work yet. 1 1
Stephen Houghton Posted Monday at 17:34 Author Posted Monday at 17:34 Yep it seems a strange concept 1
Dobber Posted Monday at 18:13 Posted Monday at 18:13 Don’t get it lads? do you mean allnighters with people sat there with headphones on?

You got it right mate everyone wearing headphones and a choice of music they prefer . Never actually been as a punter worked on security at a couple of venues that tried it but never repeated there experiments into it . Just didn't work .

Thinksmart Posted Monday at 19:22 Posted Monday at 19:22 (edited) I have been to work events with everyone on headphones connected to DJ playing the same music, not of their own choice. Without headphones it is a quiet room of shuffling people. It looks and sounds very odd that way. I am not a fan anyway, I like the music coming from the speakers. There is no shared aspect to it. I just went outside. Edited Monday at 21:14 by Thinksmart

Hooker1951 Posted Monday at 20:56 Posted Monday at 20:56 We are all doomed again double doomed , if this weren’t serious it would be hilarious 1
Still Diggin Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago So I assume one bloke has his headphones on dancing to High Frequency 'Summertime' and the bloke next to him has his headphones on dancing to Ray Pollard 'The drifter'. surely the Drifter guy is gonna like he's had a stroke! then get a few lifesize cardboard cut outs of Tommy Cooper riding a donky to make the dance floor look busy, what could go wrong? 1
Billy Jo Jim Bob Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Surely this would be a WFT moment as we watch the scene die.
Middleman Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago I was under the impression that whatever the DJ was playing was transmitted to everyone via wireless headphones………
Chalky Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago How do you create an atmosphere and buzz off each other with everyone in their own little world 1
Simsy Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago (edited) I think the silent option is a bit anti social, which is at odds with the NS scene. That feeling where a floor filler is played and folk head for the floor en masse. Edited 9 hours ago by Simsy
Middleman Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Thought everyone listened to the same music Chalky…..

Woodbutcher Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago (edited) They need to do it properly and instead of wearing headphones punters could wear virtual-reality headsets and be given a number of programs to choose from placing them in a VR venue and soundtrack of their choosing , from the Wheel through the seventies venues to the Casino then Stafford , 100 Club etc. Not sure how they'd stop bumping into each other though but perhaps some software from self-driving cars could be added. P.S. If any clever young sod makes this work I want a cut ... Edited 8 hours ago by Woodbutcher 1

Thinksmart Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Headphones are to stop the noise in situations where it is not allowed. It can be either all listen to one DJ or a choice of channels. I have not seen one with everyone in their own individual choices.
Clee93 Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) Wtf this thread is absolutely mental… why would you want experience a VR or headphone niter when there’s perfectly good actual nighters still? Edited 5 hours ago by Clee93
