BEWARE ...THE GASHER
Marc Forrest Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 It is very "strange" for a seller to admit that they have turned up quantity, isn`t it ? But who knows... before you posted I thought it was just a case of "seeing one record going high up in prise and therefore listing the same record".. Marc
Marc Forrest Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Uuh, and in general...you are not allowed to buy 6ts anylonger anyway , are you ?
Gasher Posted March 27, 2007 Author Posted March 27, 2007 HA HA MARC..ITS ALWAYS BEEN ONE OF MY FAVOURITES JUST MISSED ONE LAST YEAR TOO FROM SHIFTY BUT THERE YOU GO EH?
Pete S Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 (edited) Utter crap record..I mean there are bad records and there are bad records..from the My Cherie Amour rip off at the start, this is one hell of a bad record Edited March 28, 2007 by Pete-S
Garethx Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I hope they have turned up in quantity. The ones which John Anderson and Garry Cape found years ago can't have been the only copies ever pressed, can they? For what it's worth I think this is a fairly good record that's been elevated to mega-status by being scarce. I suspect this may never have been played if it were as common as some other JBH titles, some of which are fantastic, particularly "If We Were Still Together" on Alston. There is an Arnold Albury & The Casuals 45 on the same blue Dade logo (i.e post-Atlantic, pre-TK distribution) which I came across in R&TE in Notting Hill a couple of years ago that I'd never heard of: played it, thought "that's quite nice" but left it there for a quid. Funk acquaintances subsequently told me it's seen as something of a holy grail title. Went back to find no trace of it... wonder who bought it?
Sebastian Posted March 28, 2007 Posted March 28, 2007 I suspect this may never have been played if it were as common as some other JBH titles, some of which are fantastic, particularly "If We Were Still Together" on Alston. That one is superb! And so is "If You Want My Love" also on Alston. And "Hey There Jim" on Dig.
Marc Forrest Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 That one is superb! And so is "If You Want My Love" also on Alston. I agree it ain`t bad but it is VERY much leaned on "Clean Up Man"
Pete S Posted March 29, 2007 Posted March 29, 2007 I've been told it's a load of b*llocks that they've turned up: one from Germany, one from a collection and one recent sale by a well known collector. So does anyone want one for £2200? And I still think it's a bad record by the way, but there is a copy for sale.

Russ Vickers Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Its a brilliant record........................& you know what really pisses me off, every time some of you lot dislike a record its the same old story 'Its only being played cos its rare' what a load of of old pony................get a life, its a f***ing rare soul scene innit. Most of this is based on the fact that you're jealous that you cant afford a copy or you are too bone idle to track these records down !!!!. With exception of you Pete of course, you just hate everything . Brilliant record.....breaks my heart every time. Russ

Russ Well said Russ I thought the whole point of going on soul source was to share information about the tunes and the people who produced and made these great records but half the time its people slagging off anything they dont like ITS JUST A WASTE OF SPACE. Marc There was that lad on ebay last year, may be 2005 me thinks, who openly stated he had found 10 copies of Mel Britt in a closed down record srore in Chicago, put em on at 1 a month and the majority went for $1800 - $2000 each, mind you he could have found a 100 of these and i think he would have had no problem in getting a high price IMHO

Al H It's about opinions Al, not everyone is going to like the same records are they, otherwise the whole Soul Source idea is completely redundant.
