David Meikle Posted January 4 Posted January 4 This cd is worth buying because it contains much off his excellent catalogue. Very popular artist in the USA. Brenton Wood RIP. 1 1
Hooker1951 Posted January 4 Posted January 4 Brenton wood had his own style, nice easy going Soul singing that got over to you in a different kind of way, He was excellent at what he did without a doubt definitely had his own niche, Sad news again . R I P Brenton Wood ML 2
Robbk Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Sorry to hear this. To me, 83 is too young (being almost 80, myself). It seems like I remember him having still been making appearances and singing not that long ago. But the years have passed by very quickly lately.
Clee93 Posted January 5 Posted January 5 (edited) Was really gutted to hear this, brilliant artist who's often overlooked by loads of people especially in the UK due to his big hit. There was a thread not too long ago discussing him where people were posting all sorts of great underplayed sounds of his - when I checked at the time that thread was floating about he was still touring which is possibly the saddest thing) Here is one I like and play from time to time which was also done by Major Lance but this is the superior version... Mal C Posted January 5 Posted January 5 Great, great singer, Rest in peace Brenton... Here is one of my favorites
Tlscapital Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) A 'Pop' artist that was genuine enough to strike both the 'connoisseur' and the 'general public's' hearts. With some of the most risky and hybrid compositions and musical arrangements at times... Here's an early one of his on the 'Island Waltz' side of things. RIP Mister Wood + Edited January 6 by Tlscapital
