Ring, I'm sure with your broken English you will get sorted.  Or get a mate with better English to ring.  Be better than bitching on here where they aren't members.

ok it sounds like you have got serious issues here with the seller

It may be better if you now take these issues directly to the seller, rather than continue to post them up here which so far hasn't resolved anything

This forum/topic is not really the best place or indeed the best tool to resolve this

If anyone involved with John Manship Records is reading this, can you get in touch with this guy and open up some sort of communication to try and resolve this asp

@Paul Royle you still involved?

So you say the complete topic should be deleted because they are not members here?

I'll definitly not ring them and I have good reasons for this decision.

Maybe with hindsight John would've been better unlisting everything on discogs until sale was over and putting a note on his discogs page to say order from his  website for the time being. this would've eliminated 2 people ordering same record from 2 different places.

At the very least, he should have made it clear before the sale which orders he preferred to fulfil, especially as it was foreseeable that orders would overlap.

...why naive?... I ordered a few long(ish ) time wants... not super rare, but  I knew they were on Johns site and Discogs, but I've not got deep pockets so beyond what I was willing to pay...50% off sorted that... records arrived (ok not instantly, but Ive been hunting a copy for a long time...so what's an extra couple of weeks, he also called to say sorry for the delay)  and in the condition stated...I'm happy...

Did you order them from Discogs or from his website?

I placed two orders via discogs and one via the website, received them all in a condition actually better than stated and cheaper than I would have got anywhere else. If you don’t want to ring then that is your prerogative but complaining on here won’t get you an answer.

Mike asked the question if anybody from John Manship Records is reading any of this, then why don't they get in touch with their customer, they could do this via Soul Source I'm sure. In the past whenever something unfavourable has been posted on here against JM, somebody connected to the company has been quick to respond to it, are they're still a member?.

I'm complaining here because I haven't received any communication from John Manship, and I've actually paid a lot of money for records without even knowing if they're available, since he apparently prefers to fulfill Discogs orders over website orders. It wouldn't bother me to wait if I could be sure I'd get what I paid for. I actually feel foolish because I ordered through his website instead of Discogs, as I was stupidly trying to save him the Discogs fees. In the end, I probably got the short end of the stick because I meant well by John.

How shall I call him if I don't feel my english is good enough for a talk?

Hi I waited around 3 weeks for mine to arrive, I did chase them by email several times because they do not always answer. Persona;;y I think that they were taken by surprise by the number of orders that they got and are struggling to cope. Drop them an email and I am sure that they will reply.

I also think that he has been surprised. It doesn't bother me that it takes a long time, but it seems that Discogs orders are prioritized. I deliberately chose to order from his website instead of Discogs to save John the Discogs fees, and this now most likely means that I've drawn the short straw because I meant well by John. I would like to hear a clear statement from him that he processes orders in chronological order by date of receipt and not on the premise of avoiding bad reviews on Discogs due to out-of-stock vinyls.

bear in mind that on discogs you pay the full price and not half price as no coupon on there.. you get a half refund upon dispatch of vinyl and a full refund for those not in stock.. and of course bad feedback can be left on there and thats damaging for business if enough bad feedback is left.. just be patient i`m sure things will be sorted

6000 items of correspondence and 1000s of orders, I guess they are a little busy mate.

That's true, but obviously many buyers didn't/don't care.

Don't want to sound like a smart arse , but your writing in English is perfect and a lot better than quite a few on here , including myself , have not seen any of your posts edited.

I have friends who will only stay in contact via writing a letter, in the old fashioned way , no internet or telephone calls , in 2025 there is still a very good postal service . So why not give it a go , record delivery, 48 hrs etc , nothing to lose & keep a copy of the letter complete with all references etc . With today's method of contacting everyone expects an instant response , I have pre- ordered and had to wait on occasion up to 12 weeks , albeit not for thousands of pounds worth of records , I can understand you're concerns , but your winding yourself up and if you feel you can't give John a ring , I'd be surprised if someone working with John couldn't understand you , otherwise try a letter .

Thanks, I write a lot, but I hardly ever speak English. I simply don't have the time to go to the post office for sending a letter.

It seems that at this point, with the sale being over, they know how many orders they have and how much they can package and ship each day.  JM could at least put out a blanket statement saying all orders should be filled/refunded within x number of weeks.  That would help ease the wonder of waiting for many.  I’m just playing the patience game and letting it sort itself out, although am a little surprised my December order hasn’t been touched yet. 👀

Whatever else anyone says, it simply wasn't true when JM said the orders were being done chronologically. The fact that you're still waiting since December and others in this very thread have placed and received orders more recently puts that to bed.

Not disagreeing about half price being a bargain of sorts but I dont think you can use general discogs prices as a comparison as a lot of sellers on there are completely delusional

Yes I'm well aware of that but in this case the prices were both from Discogs so to my mind the comparison stands. I took the cheapest other sellers listing with the same grading. Surprisingly no stupid prices came up, most were in the same ball park figure. from memory at least ten were from another well known seller. Delusional or not the other sellers still came out cheaper than John's on Discogs Had a certain Boogaloo seller come up on all the records then your point would most certainly have been 100% correct.

Knowing that the discogs orders seem to be getting filled first, I decided to list my order numbers from the JM website in my discogs order notes/message field.  Hopefully that will allow them to pull all my orders together for a single shipment.

I guess I’m just basing that off of my own experience of having my 13th of January discogs order filled before my December JM order, plus others in this thread have echoed the same.  Who really knows what order they are going in between the two sites.  I was just offering it up as an idea to others that have orders in both places and are not calling Stella to expedite.  JM did say they don’t have a way to search for names, so I did it out of hope that it might help consolidate and speed up my orders. Unfortunately, you can’t leave notes on your orders at the JM site as far as I can tell, so if they fill that one before my other discogs orders then I just have to wait a little longer. I’m sure it will all get sorted sooner or later.  Hopefully I manage to get some of my wants out of this.

Okay, so you don't know, but you suspect it. I suspect it too, but I would like concrete information about how he prioritises the orders and what the exact reasons are when he prioritises Discogs orders.
