Think John should be given a bit of slack from people who have not yet received orders, the weather is atrocious not just a problem for him but the Royal Mail too.

As Woodbutcher states probably thinking why bother, especially if he is bombarded with emails and phone calls about deliveries not received after less than a week.

think the only problems really would come from discogs where the seller only has so long to update or at least to keep buyers in the loop... soul people are in the main not the most patient of people so he probably need a body keeping their eye solely on that site

Too easy to cut some slack when sat at a keyboard.

I ordered some almost two weeks ago, they will get to me some time soon.

Thats what I was trying to say, my post was in defence of John.

I hope my posts were not seen as a criticism of John or moaning , I did say I wasn't expecting to hear anything for the next couple of days,I was just looking for a bit of clarity ,were people in the same situation as myself regarding buying from his Discogs site. I appreciate his staff must be under pressure with the various conditions working against them, the weather,  number of orders etc.

Like Chalky I'm sure all will be well with patience.

I ordered one from his Discogs site because I couldn't find the record that I wanted on his own site on Monday night, and it arrived yesterday morning. However I paid for Special Delivery so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

What really surprised me was I was messaging him questions really late at night and he was answering my messages

The Royal Mail will probably having problems with the weather too and staffing levels will probably be down with the Christmas temps probably laid off, so that is something to factor in too , I am sure the parcels will be on their way.

I ordered from the website on boxing day and it arrived this morning.  They're probably trying to deal with a significant amount of order volume.

Made my discogs order on December 28th and haven’t heard a peep.  Makes me wonder if they are really doing them in order 🫤

I’ve asked him today and he says by date order.

I'm sure he had nothing better to do on Boxing Day ...

Bit of a stupid comment really. He is just saying that people are receiving their orders earlier than him.Im in the same boat. Dont tell me that 5 days of posting is all from the 26th.In hindsight im sure John will think he started the sale a tad early.

He's been inundated with unprecedented numbers of orders from all directions , from a half-price bonanza started over the holiday period , in the middle of the coldest winter snap for over a decade , I suspect John's not like the Post Office drafting in an army of minions to cover the extra workload so it's hardly surprising that orders are taking time to process.

You'll just have to be patient and accept that although you can complete your order with a click of a mouse it's not like you're dealing with a robotic Amazon-like service , 45s have to be found amongst the 100,000 or so on the shelves , packed securely , labelled up , and given to the postie en mass , and then they have to rush around in appalling weather etc , etc , etc.

the sale is probably going better than he thought it would and maybe with hindsight he would have started it January 1st

if he had given all his staff time off during the holidays

I have a question  tho.. Is it all down to individual settings or does everyone's orders on discogs go straight to checkout so they can pay immediately

If you want it next day pay for next day delivery.

Makes me laugh when people say I've been looking for a copy of a record for years then moan about it taking a few extra days to get there

Mine when straight to payment and discogs changed the status to payment received
