The below showed up this morning....

Parcel theft is becoming increasingly common as more people shop online, with new data showing more than £370 million worth of parcels were stolen from doorsteps across the UK in the last year.

The technology company Quadient found that more than three million homes had at least one parcel stolen in the past 12 months.

The average value of stolen goods increased by 52% - rising from £66.50 in 2023 to £102 this year.

However, only one in 333 thefts are reported to the police.

So what should you do if you think your parcel is stolen?

Most I bet are stolen by those delivering them.  It doesn't help with the poor pay the delivery folk get and the time given for a huge amount of deliveries.  Leaving them on doorstep etc.  They should be handed over to the buyer or taken back unless specific instructions given.  Just leaving them on the doorstep for all to see is crazy.

Where we live , out in the sticks , it's the same postcode for around 30 homes , all the homes have Names not numbered, but the amount of parcels we receive, from Amazon, Evri , DPD , for others is quite amazing .

They usually just leave them , just inside the gate in full view of anyone passing , last week in the carport 15 kg of Harrington's dog food , & last week left behind the dustbins ( which stay out on the lane) 2 x record boxes wrapped & quite large to hide for me delivered by DPD . The thing is the cheeky buggers take a photo and post to the customer's that they've actually delivered the item , It's time I started billing them for completing the delivery ( the companies not the neighbours) it's a bloody disgrace.
