I'd recognise that wallpaper anywhere, very distinctive. Suzan has some more photographs possibly the same night.  Its noticable that the style was very different then, a bit more mod - before the switch to baggies and vests.

Regretfully no, bit of a disappointment as never saw him live. Back then Harborough crowd mixed with Corby, Kettering, Cambridge and Peterborough plus lots of individuals who just seemed to turn up - why/how, who knows. Did used to travel a long way though. Mostly we were in cars. I'll see if I can did some phot's out. Sue has let other use them so thay may have been posted already.

this as remembered it , seats along to dj area  cafe above , prophet's was big then ... also birmingham xxx bitter , now going to freeze

Yes.

I don’t know when the trend started but “the black glove” was definitely seen in 1970.

I have a news cutting from the day after the “Ibrox Disaster” with my mate on the pitch with his “black driving glove” on his left hand. The photograph was dated 3rd January 1971.

Twenty eight days later were at the Wheel for the final time. My mate bought Bobby Seale’s book in Manchester Victoria Station that day.

Seale was co-founder of the Black Panther Party with Huey Newton in 1966.

There was a lot of fuss when two Black American athletes raised their fist on the podium of one of the main track events in the 1968 Olympics. The world assumed that the silent protest was associated with Black Power but Seale later stated the it was to do with Equal Rights.

Bobby Hutton, was the 16 year old Treasurer of the Black Panthers, and a founding member. He was shot dead by police following an altercation with officers. It is disputed that he was shot whilst unarmed and surrendering. He has of course got a soul legend name sake. I have this framed photograph of him.

interesting  but did you cant have  live those times transport  only Hire Purchase  £7 a week ,Cane  at school first generation to rebel still happened at college after school same bully culture and then lucky to meet the wrong crowd ...SKF ,however the photos were a revalation on memory the start of a long journey   ,dont to wish for it again???
