Rick Cooper Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I don't remember hearing it at The Torch, Blackpool Mecca, Wigan or anywhere else. Perhaps I've blocked the memory as a coping mechanism for such a terrible record. 3

Happy Feet Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 Never heard it out & about back in the 70s , or later , wouldn't be surprised if Ms Shifrin never took a copy home either .

Roburt Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 This version is a bit closer to home for Edwin (as he used to be the featured singer with Bill Doggett's group) ... 2
Bo Diddley Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 It must be just me that likes it then!! "Blue Max" Millward played it at the Catacombs. I bought his copy from the Cats (on 20th May 1980!) in my quest for "something different", that still continues to this day. Admittedly, by that stage, most of Max's old collection had been well and truly picked over with the remainder not being the best. (p.s. I also have a Demo with a picture cover) 1

Geeselad Posted October 24, 2024 Posted October 24, 2024 I'll be honest, i like it, tad poppy, with the brass lacking bite, but the groove holds together well and she sounds a bit like Julie Driscoll, which isn't terrible in my book. The fuzz guitar grows well in the background and the bongos give it a kick. 1

Chris O Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Was after this for bloomin years as I collect obscure uk funky 45s and ended up swapping it for a 100 quid funk 45 with my mate, by the time I got it I did not even like it that much, so that sucked! She was on motown too briefly. Never heard of it being spun at niters!? Pretty shite really haha... 2
