Codfromderby Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 after being into the music for over 30 years today i finally heard "true lovers" by the four chaps, KINELL!!! what a record, how did i miss this 45 over the years, its nearly as good as good as the "lower end " of the market c.o.d.s tracks that i "dissed" for years because they were cheap years ago, any more good uns i should know about and what tunes did you not even bother to hear because they were either cheap or not played NOTE: i am sure the four chaps 45 was a regular years ago in tenbob boxes
Jumpinjoan Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Know what... you've made my night. Just reading your post gave me goose bumps... and i've had the record 20 years. Nothing beats the feeling you get when you hear a fantastic record for the first time... just fab
Guest Fatius Bumius Posted March 23, 2007 Posted March 23, 2007 Picked my Four Chaps up two or three years ago, only paid £5 odd for it. There's a thread somewhere of cheap but good records that get overlooked because of price/ease of getting 'em. Some good 'ens on there worth picking up.

Soul-slider Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Passed the Four Chaps by many times thinking it was just another mundane cheapie.....decided to buy one when I saw it for about $5 (£2.75)....WOW! I thought exactly the same as you Coddy boy, brilliant piece of Soul music....the backing is absolutely awesome! Blue Eyed I believe. Btw, the flip has got to be one of the worst tunes ever!!!
