Guest martinsbox
version by Barbara Mercer...is this the one? https://www.soulclub.org/stream/Barbara_Mer..._Dear_Heart.ram Diana Ross & Supremes definately did a crap version (very very weak). I've heard the acetate of both the vocal and instrumental!! I don't know of any other version. If it's better than Shawn Robinson's classic, I'd love to hear it. To be quite honest if it was any good, it would have been sourced long ago. The record has just not got any guts to it. To be quite honest . . . I could whistle better. About 5 years ago, I received a CD of unissued Motown stuff from a good friend of mine who has a great contact in the States. I've had unissued stuff from him before on tapes when CD was'nt invented! Anyway, to cut a long story short...'My Dear Heart' is on the CD as EDNA WRIGHT...apparently Rita's sister..... Link to comment Social source share

I thought the Supremes and Barbara Mercer version of My Dear Heart was the same recording, just that it had a cover-up artist and an assumed real artist, which may or may not be correct. Are there actually two different versions apart from Shawn Robinson ?? Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com Link to comment Social source share

Are there actually two different versions apart from Shawn Robinson ?? Cheers Mick https://northern-soul-records.com It was played out covered as the Supremes/Diana Ross and then later assumed to be Barbara Mercer if I remember rightly. Why it was ever played out I'll never know, it's shite compared to Shawn Robinson, suppose it's one of those played cause it's unreleased rather than for it's quality.
