DARRELL BANKS - OPEN THE DOOR TO YOUR HEART / OUR LOVE (IS IN THE POCKET) - REVILOT WHITE DEMO SOLD

EX 125

What a stunner - original white demo, this is a real tough one and to be honest it's the first time I've been able to find it on a demo. Looks VG++ plays EX apart from minor crackle on the first 3 rotations of Our Love. Initial on label Open The Door side. Fabulous.

JIMMY MILLER - (ON A) BACK STREET - CARLSON INTERNATIONAL EX 150

Well I was amazed to see this on a label I'd never even heard of! Very rare.

REX GARVIN - YOU DON'T NEED NO HELP - WSJ SOUND EX 75 SOLD

Rare original vinyl copy, not the crappy styrene bootleg

RUFUS LUMLEY - I'M STANDING - HOLTON EX 100

Now extremely rare on this stamped original

HENRY BOATWRIGHT - I CAN TAKE OR LEAVE YOUR LOVING - CAPITOL DEMO EX- 25

Forgotten stomper from the early days of Wigan

JERRY JACKSON - IT'S ROUGH OUT THERE - PARKWAY DEMO EX- 175

Fantastic double sider. Only graded at EX- because of some very very quite pops right at the start, most would grade this at EX and not even mention it

JOHNNY LITTLEJOHN - 29 WAYS - TDS EX 75 SOLD

My favourite R & B record I think, uptempo blues stomper, very highly recommended. This is the track I put up on Soul Source the other day.

FRANK LUCAS - JANITOR OF LOVE - MHR EX 40

Fairly pleasant modern track but not quite my cup of tea. Arranged by Monk Higgins and written by someone called V. Pea!

HERMAN GRIMES - IT'S BETTER THAN CRYING - T & G VG 15

Not pretty!

JACK & JACKIE - DON'T BOTHER TO CALL - COOKIN' EX 25

Not sure quite how ancient this is but it sounds like about 1959 - R & B rocker

CHANCE EDEN - ANOTHER LOVE - ROULETTE EX 25

If you ever wanted to hear Elvis crossed with Roy Orbison performing over a brilliant Northern backing, here's your chance!

JIMMY LEWIS - LET ME KNOW - UK MINIT M- 25 SOLD

Beautiful copy, great stomping Northern

JAMES BROWN - PAPA'S GOT A BRAND NEW BAG - UK LONDON TEST PRESSING M 60

This is an absolute stunner, blank yellow London demo label with typed credits, this pre-dates the official demo copy. The B side has just a blank London label. Fabulous condition and a really lovely UK collectors piece.

SUGAR PIE DESANTO - I DON'T WANNA FUSS - UK PYE INTERNATIONAL EX- 15

Classic Chicago soul on the famous yellow and red label

THE EXCITERS - TELL HIM - UK UNITED ARTISTS DEMO EX 15

Looks brilliant!

SAMANTHA JONES - SURROUNDED BY A RAY OF SUNSHINE - UK UA EX+ 75

Best copy I've ever seen of this on UK, solid centre, beautiful

have to disagree Jerry, was out and about practically every week in 77 and never heard this...it had long gone...I'll see if I can find it on a 1974-5 Wigan tape

Hermans Hermits had a hit with this track!

The Foundations recorded it, too, I think it's on the flip of one of their hits...
