Peter99
It's awful. But, I guess "let's play it because it's not well known" syndrome. Peter 3 Link to comment Social source share

John Hart Posted Saturday at 10:41 Share Posted Saturday at 10:41 A much covered tune , 50 Plus versions, written by the "Winner" Gene Mc Daniels. Checkout Ray Charles 1980 take issued in US , Europe & UK on 45," Compared to Stef ",,,rather good methinks ? 1 Link to comment Social source share
Mike Posted Saturday at 10:53 Share Posted Saturday at 10:53 says 250 + covers here loads of quality covers though out there imo, many with different approaches, making it hard to pick a definite one? can clock a great live version here grab a brew though as its 8 mins long! 1 Link to comment Social source share

That's a very cool video - nice jazzy version. Being an old stick in the mud it would take something to steer me away from Mr Floods party - superb dance track. That's the one I was brought up on. Geeselad Posted Saturday at 11:25 Share Posted Saturday at 11:25 Agree that Mr flood's is hard to beat for northern dancefloors, Les McCann has to be the definitive version for me. 1 Link to comment Social source share

Davace Posted Saturday at 13:26 Share Posted Saturday at 13:26 Agree Floods is a great dancer and McCann has a great groove. When picking up the McCann 45 on Atlantic I was horrified to hear the sound effect beeps...spoiled it for me. Link to comment Social source share

Best version for me. I have a promo copy of the LP where one af the lyrics is bleeped out. Stock copy plays as normal. Also like Roberta Flacks version Cheers Paul Link to comment Social source share
