DER Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Does anyone have knowledge of The Alphabet Club that was on Gerrard Street, London in the 1960s? My Grandmother, who has sadly passed away, used to venture there in the 60s. So - want to know if anyone had more info on the Club or even ventured there themselves. Thank you in advance.
Sceneman Posted November 20 Posted November 20 Yes I used to pop in there when doing my rounds from the flamingo, cheap club at 50 pence entrance fee,, but music was not really much cop,the scene club had the best sounds virtue of guy stevens ,it wasn’t a favourite club ,but frequented by hard up teens of the time, most high on speed ,not many dancing
Sceneman Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago My neigbor used to go there on a Saturday nite but I ever saw him in soho as I used to frequent scene and flamingo at differing times en route to coffee Anne coffee bar
Sceneman Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago A basement coffee bar in a wharehose in whitcombe street which no longer exists ,a jukebox and lots of blocked babbling mods in the small hours,it had steep wooden stairs which many fell down ,I don’t think it was open during the day …the area has been redeveloped a lot
