Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 What the hell is dead wax matrix and run time??? I'm not a technophobe, sorry I must say I'm rather surprised by this response as just over 12 hours ago, (at 12.02 GMT on Tuesday 20th March) you quoted matrix numbers (eventually) when asked for those in relation to the Alec Constandinos 12", as follows : Oh, and just for the record, on the Alec 12" i see in barely visible carved tyle lettering kkl - A.C. + ext + a As it now appears you have forgotten what matrix numbers are during the course of the evening, I would suggest that consultation with "uncle phil" the professional sound engineer be made, as he will be no doubt be able to offer you ample advice on this aspect of the enquiry. We are well aware from earlier postings that this track falls well within his specialist criteria, thus value his expert knowledge on such a matter. Whilst on the subject, I must say that I sincerely admire the fact that as a professional sound engineer he can be so selective about which forms of music he chooses to re-master. Clearly he is well respected in his particular field and doesn't need to expand his selection critera, however I did hear a rumour recently that he actually turned down a potentially lucrative contract for the re-mastering of early Motorhead works. Can you confirm this please ? Looking forward to seeing the 9th Creation data requested by other members, being pasted up here today (Wednesday). Thanks in advance, Martin Snow
Guest Sue Males Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 It would take quite an offer for me to part with this, so feel free to make one! But how can we make an offer ? we don't know what the currency is on Krypton Do they have very smelly rats there ? the kind that you can smell the pong of 980 trillion miles away?
Guest mel brat Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 That's a rare one and a lovely tune. I could well be interested. Can you post up a scan of both sides of the label and let me know a more detailed description of the condition. Nick I think I may have this! Is it on 'Track' or something like that? Black and white label, early 80s? (Most of my records are packed away at the moment, so I can't check) Cheers.
Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 What the hell is your problem MARTIN SNOW for the last bloody time? I am a record collector, not a boring fart like yourself who has to analyze every minor part of a vinyls surface, information on a groove, etc. I couldn't give a rat's arse what you think. As i said a few times before, i am not a technophobe, so matrix numbers, etc are completely over my head as i buy vinyl for the love of a killer track, (THE MUSIC) whether that be a £50 record or a 50p bargain basement soul record. You are without a shadow of doubt, the rudist most head stuck up their arse member of this forum. No one has had been as insolent as you. You seem to think you speak with the whole voice of the entire forum when you reply with your derogatory comments and yet the reality is, you are just a jealous old man that hates the fact some newcomer to the forum has some great records and is offering some trades. I have now had an offer for my 9th creation so this record is now sold. Interestingly enough this fella, didn't message me in the disgusting manner that you have chosen. He was polite and friendly. His offer was gladly accepted. As for Phil the sound engineer, maybe he did turn down some 60s nothern shite. Who knows! I know i would if i was an engineer!! He knows what he likes. After all, why waste his life away remastering music that's shite to his ears?? Especially when there's so many wonderful 70s and 80s modern soul cuts to be remastered that are far superior in production and quality. 'NUFF SAID! He remasters the REAL SOUL. The modern / crossover rare groove sound of the 70s upwards. When i asked him why he does it all for free, his reply was..." my reward for my efforts is more wonderful soul music to enjoy over and over in my collection...." To date i've had over 20 albums remastered by Phil and approx 50 7" & 12" singles so whatever pathetic comment you make about Phil, the guy is mighty fine in my book and would be to anyone else that was the lucky recipient of his efforts. You know somat MR SNOW...... You truly do bore me now. I'm sure other forum members have had great entertainment today reading these posts, but as of now i'm just gonna ignore your pathetic comments. If i had a digital camera i would take a close up of me and my 9th creation - mellow music 7" close to my chest, but i did not join this forum to prove i own rare vinyls and go to great lengths too either. I joined to trade with interesting and friendly soul collectors and hopefully discover a few more soul gems along the journey. It's now time for you to make a sharp exit from my soul trek. The garbage shaft has now been opened, you have now exited. GOODBYE
Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I agree SBOY, but there are some users out there with way too much free time on their hands and dreams and aspirations of joining the Gestapo, if they haven't already! PLEASE NOTE....... 9th Creation is now SOLD

Guest rachel Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Can we please avoid the personal comments on other members, whether you agree with their point of view or not. Rare Gems.. I'd say that asking for matrix numbers and run time are pretty standard queries for record collectors especially if they're considering buying a rare item. If you have the record in your possession it's pretty straightforward to look at it and play it to answer these questions. Incidentally, a 'technophobe' is someone who is scared of technology, so I'm not sure what 'not being one' has to do with anything.

PLEASE NOTE....... 9th Creation is now SOLD In the same time it took you to type the above rubbish you could have supplied the info that many members have requested. You claim to have the record so come on, supply the matrix info ? There would only be one reason why this would not be possible wouldn't there ? We are still waiting. Martin Snow

Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Too late. 9th Creation 7" has been shipped internationally signed for Airmail. Look out for a user on here who's first name is Jules. He will provide that information within a week or so when he recieves his 9th creation 7" He lives in Germany so his package should arrive within 5 working days if airmail is efficient. Seeing as i've never sold records on a forum before, i have never encountered all this nonsense over markings on run out grooves. But hey, whatever turns you on i suppose!
Guest rachel Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 It's not "nonsense", it's a way of checking that the record both exists, and is an original. Ah well, you'll know for next time

Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Too late. 9th Creation 7" has been shipped internationally signed for Airmail. Well that is a surprise. I'd ask all site members, would you pay good money for a record that the seller refused to supply the matrix numbers for, the label colours, the running times, the B side ? I know I wouldn't ? Payment seems to have cleared fast overnight doesn't it, out of interest what was the selling price please as if one becomes available it would be good to know what one should expect to pay. Never mind about the matrix info then, just let us know what the B side was please as many of us have often wondered. There's no possible excuse for not being able to inform us of this, is there ? Naturally you'll have recorded it so please post up a clip for all to admire, even if it has not been subject to the Phil Ward re-mastering process. Several questions to answer there but all very straight forward, so a positive response is awaited. Thanks very much, Martin Snow.

YOU QUOTE THE DIGITS 1975 IN THE ABOVE, IS THIS THE YEAR OR CATALOGUE NUMBER AS IVE OFTEN WONDERED WHAT YEAR IT'S FROM ? 4. "BLACK BACKGROUND ON VINYL" MAKES NO SENSE TO ME. Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Martin, you bore me now Do your own homework YOU HAVE ALREADY BEEN WARNED BY ONE OF THE SITE ADMINISTRATORS AS TO THE PURPOSE OF THIS SITE. ANSWER THE SIMPLE QUESTIONS PLEASE.
Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Is the purpose of this site to be your personal slave? To beckon to your every call? Stopping my busy work to sift thru boxes of vinyl to find a series of numbers on a white label to satisfy you? Hmmmn, i musta missed that part in the rules! 9th creation - mellow music / same 1975 (Track) 1001 why do i have to keep on repeating myself
Val (Chunky) Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 ditracting from the thread a bit here but are you really from Krypton?
Guest rachel Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Rare Gems - really it's up to you if you want to supply people with the information they ask for. However, you have been asked to keep to the forum guidelines (if you haven't read them then please do), and to provide us with an introduction about yourself.
Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Well, let me see....... It seems Mr Snow does not know my name.... Hmmmn, what could that possibly be? I've left my email attached to threads. Hmmmn, alanwsvince@yahoo.com Mr Snow, perhaps i'm Alan ?????? I am a soul collector from England. I love all forms of modern soul from 70s - 2007. Does everyone need to know my national insurance number? Is that in the rules?
oldsteve woomble Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 This is the best entertainment on here for ages! Nice 1 boys! Hey how about 'Celebrity Soul Source Wrestling' now that our Saturday evenings have been ruined by the sad demise of 'Celebrity Ponsing About On Ice'? It could be the future.... Draw for the 1st bout...(2 falls or a submission)..... Rare Gems of soul v Martin Snow Me? I'll take on anyone. Come on Hampsey, let's have it!! Or you Page, I reckon I could ave yer! Hey let's extend it further and have tag teams, 'Northern v Modern!! or even 'RnB v kings of x-over'!! Or how about 'Celebrity Deathmatch' DJ bouts?? The possibilities are endless!! Anyone got ITV's phone number??
Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Nice one Steve!!! made me laugh. Good to see someone has a sense of humour! Check out the soundclip of Patrick Norman. A bit of a modern stormer and so cheap to buy!

THANKS MARTIN YOU HAVE RECEIVED YET A FURTHER WARNING FROM RACHEL, SO WHY WON'T YOU SIMPLY ANSWER THE 5 ABOVE QUESTIONS "ALAN" ? BY NOW THIS THREAD HAS TOPPED AROUND A 1000 VIEWS AND ALL IN THE SPACE OF 2 DAYS, THATS GOING TO TAKE SOME BETTERING ISN'T IT, SO CLEARLY THERES A LOT OF INTEREST FOR THIS VITAL AND SOUGHT AFTER INFORMATION, NOT JUST FROM ME. GIVEN THE NUMBER OF WHITE LABELS MENTIONED WOULD I BE CORRECT IN ASSUMING YOU ARE THE RADIO PRESENTER ALAN J ? YOUR RESPONSE IS EAGERLY AWAITED, AND NEEDS ONLY TO BE FOCUSED ON THE ABOVE CAUSES. THANKS IN ANTICIPATION, MARTIN
Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 JUST NOTICED I SAID BY NOW THIS THREAD HAS TOPPED AROUND A 1000 VIEWS, SORRY THE OTHER THREAD BY RARE GESM ALTHO SOMEWHAT LINKED HAS HAD 1099 AT PRESENT, THIS ONE HAS HAD 605, STILL A RESPECTABLE NUMBER THOUGH.
Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 It's not "nonsense", it's a way of checking that the record both exists, and is an original. Ah well, you'll know for next time RACHEL, THE WORD "NEXT" WOULD ASSUME THERE HAS "ALREADY BEEN ONE PREVIOUS OCCASION". TO DATE IT WOULD APPEAR UNLIKELY AN INITIAL TRANSACTION HAS TAKEN PLACE BASED ON THE LACK OF EVIDENCE SUPPLIED BY RARE GEMS, THE PERSON WE NOW KNOW ON MORE PERSONAL TERMS AS ALAN. SURELY ALAN YOU SHOULD BE PROUD TO SUPPLY THE MISSING DATA IF YOU ARE OR HAVE BEEN, THE PROUD OWNER OF SUCH A "RARE GEM OF SOUL" ? IS IT MUCH TO ASK ?
Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Haha!!! Gold 'ole Alan J. What a blinder of a show that is on Solar Radio. Am i Alan J???? Classic!!!! haha, no, I am not Alan J. GOD!, i wish. That guy plays some seriously good modern soul. Would love to get my hands on some of his vinyls! But, i do know he is also one of the few lucky guys to get his vinyl remastered by Phil aswell, because Phil does the Quiet Storm mixes featured on his show. i suggest you or rachel post some forums for Jules to PM you. If he checks back here next week i'm sure he'll tell you the MATRIX GROOVES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hey, who knows, maybe he'll be technically more advanced than me and post up a photo of his 7" too. But, not much point in him taking two pics, coz both sides look the same! But, i'm sure he has way better things to do than banter to your whimsical wishes if he is a member on here!

OKAY ALAN, FIRSTLY YOU'VE FORGOTTEN, WE'RE NO LONGER INTERESTED IN THE MATRIX NUMBERS AND THAT DID NOT FORM PART OF ANY OF THE 5 MAIN QUESTIONS YOU WERE ASKED A LITTLE EARLIER. IF YOU CAN ANSWER THOSE CONCISELY THEN I'LL EASE OFF ON THIS ONE, BUT UNTIL YOU DO I AM GOING TO KEEP REMINDING YOU. IF YOU NEVER HAD THE RECORD, WOULD IT NOT BE COMMON SENSE TO ADMIT IT, AS WITHOUT ANSWERS TO THE 5 QUESTIONS ASKED, THE MAJORITY, IF NOT ALL, OF THE SITE MEMBERSHIP, WILL DOUBT YOU EVER POSSESSED A COPY. AT PRESENT THAT LOOKS AN EVER INCREASING PROBABILITY. THANKS IN ADVANCED, MARTIN

Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Are you as thick as two planks Martin? I said if jules is good enough to post a pic he'd only need to take one. Answers your question to the b-side now doesn't it Hmmn, 1975 what on earth could that be? I think you need to go back to pre-school to learn about numbers and YEARS!!! (Track) 1001 ..... Hmmn, what on earth could that possibly be? Oh the mind boggles! My head is spinning! Logic would tell you it was the Label and record number but oh please what could those series of letters and numbers mean? aghhhhhhh!!!! black background? Well.....Duh!!!!!!!! if it's red, it's red, if it's blue, it's blue if it's black it's BLACK!!!!! Would that not be the colouring behind the texT????????? Are not all vinyls grooves black anyway, so a black blackground would surely represent the centre colouring! Is it really that complicated for you to understand? The remastered track time, well, 3m 47 sec. How many tracks did Phil remaster? Only one, not much point doing the same track twice, now is there? Where's your pacifier???? You musta lost it which would explain all your pent up ANGER
Sutty Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 if you're all so smart, why is this in the wants section when it's a sales post?
Guest Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I had already posted up a wants list prior to this. Had the right person offered the right vinyl, a swap could've occured. As it happens i had an offer to sell my mint 7" that i could not refuse. He paypal'd last night, i promised to post registered airmail first thing, which i did. If you check the 1st thread yu will see i added a clip and said, make offers. So that should andswer your question. So..... that's why i can not answer Mr Snow's childish questions over Matrix Numbers on a groove. I'm not gonna go to the Postal sorting office or get a flight to Germany just to get a series of letters and numbers. After all, i've sold my record. What connection or obligation do i have to Mr Snow? Absolutely nothing whatsoever. I've answered all i could on the 7" from memory. My favourate 7" is Ron Keith & Ladys - I can't live without you 76. If asked on the spur of the moment i'm not gonna remember all info on the record, what colour the record is, etc. I need to view the record up close.
