"And let the red hot flames drive the red hot tears from my eyes" Kin brilliant!

Ruth Brown - I Burned Your Letter, just love this track! Very rock n roll but who gives a fook! I always get confused at "Crossover" and the definition, my definition is music of one genre crossing over to another? Who knows? Who cares?

I'm sure the Soul Police are going to storm my house any moment, especially if they could hear some of the stuff I listen to.

Ruth Brown - I Burned Your Letter, ever get any plays any where?

Rock n Roll, well surly Trinder n the Phonetics is as well? In fact there are a host of Rock n Roll tracks that have bled into the Soul scene...... I can't compare you to a jewel and if some body tried they be a fool.........

I used to give it a spin a couple of years ago at Annesley

I like it.

Steve B

Great record, gets quite a few plays at R&B/mod nights..

Check out 'Mama he treats your daughter mean' on Phillips.. cracking tune

Anyone going to buy a Ruth Brown - Mama (He Treats Your Daughter) just be careful.

I bought a demo some time ago, it turned out to be a totally different version of Mama, it was awful!!!

I think it might have been a Philips Demo, i'll ask JMTG, I left it at his house and told him to bin it lol.

Ruth Brown i burned your letter.......I too have spun this out, nice RnB IMHO.......do really like it

Sure there is another version of this....by The Four ?????...somethings or others, can't remember group name and never head it, but it's supposed to be good.

Her best 45 has gotta be 'He tells me with his eyes' on Philips, quite hard to find, also covered by Patsy Ann Noble.

It's the Philips copy of Mama that you want... (unless you like the really early Rock & Roll stuff)

The other version is on Atlantic.

I play both out ..... Kev C (R&B Rookie) has about 5 different versions of Mama.....

Got my Mama Phillips W/D from Sean Chapman for a very nice price

Ruth Brown RIP
