NEV Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 (edited) Hi all hope everyone is well and all who went to Prestatyn had a great time.never got this yr but not complaining.seem to remember how cold it was and i bet ,judging by the weather at mo ,it was Bbbrrrrrrr Fffrrrreeeezzzzzzzzzzzzzzin! lol question today revolves around something i seen on here a few weeks back concerning someone selling a "acetate" of Linda Griner-Goodbye cruel love, on ebay.someone wanted to know if it was real or fake! i seem to remember at the time ,expert opinion suggested the giveaway was the fact "jobete" was mispelt as "jobette" (2 T's) upon looking at a copy of eddie wilson-toast to the lady ,on popsike.it appears the wdj and the unusal looking copy sold from Germany are all spelt "jobette" and the issue with just one T. anyone care to elaborate on this please? cheers Nev Edited March 20, 2007 by NORTHERN NEV
Guest Lady Maverick Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I remember someone telling me that if I ever find a 45 with JOBETE misspelled (sp), it's a fake.
Simon T Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 (edited) Jobete, as in the Motown publishing company, is Jobete because it was named after Berry Gordy's children Hazel Joy, Berry & Terry. However, perhaps someone may have made a mistake when writting / printing some labels thinking should be Jobette as in the diminuative form of a word e.g. kitchenette, masonette or the feminine form of a name e.g. Paulette Reaves, Jeanette Harper?
