My very last copy that was supposed to remain hard filed in the collection but life decided otherwise. Visual grade: EX €1200 Camille DeCoeur – Love is (not for real) / Girl don't take your head away from me – Reynolds 203 Rare as hen's teeth and stunningly beautiful dreamy folk soul with crisp drums. Completely undocumented as far as I know. Visual grade: VG+ €1000 Silky Hargraves – I'll keep on trying / Love, let's try it again – Wheelsville 116 HOLD Wailin' mid-tempo Detroit on the legendary label. Visual grade: VG+, minor warp NAP €350 Disciples of Soul – Together / That's the way love goes – Phantom 2755 The Intruders original from 1967 is pretty decent but this 1968 take from Virginia really takes it to the next level. Nice clean copy too. Visual grade: EX €325 Lou Lawton – Knick knack patty wack / It's that time of day – Wand 1160 Classic Northern stomper. Intermittent pops but plays with full fidelity. Visual grade: VG- to VG €300 The Fabulous Moonlighters – I've lost again / For granted – Blue Eagle 1011 Indiana ballad with an uplifting dancer flip. Visual grade: VG, medium warp NAP €250 Step By Step – I always wanted to be in the band / Step by step – Zafiro 520 Uplifting Spanish only modern from Milwaukee. Rare issue copy. Sleeve is intact with some wear around the edges and grades around VG Visual grade: VG+ €225 Frankie Luv – Frankie's L.A. Stomp Pt I/II – Chancellor 1204 One of the last releases on the label and to be honest one of the freshest things I've heard on this imprint. Remarkably cool jazzy instrumental with potential on several scenes. Distribution seems to have been coming apart at the seams too at that point cause this promo only release was only recently discovered after laying dormant for 50 plus years. Visual grade: VG+, minor warp NAP €225 Bobbie Roberson – Don't you leave me baby / Don't turn your back on me baby – Bolivia 0332 Alabama sweet soul deepness. Copy looks unplayed with a short warp that tracks without any issues. Visual grade: M-, storage warp NAP €200 Richard Williams – Who's got the right of way / I'm a free man – Dionysian 103 Rare garage banger that aldso came out (in equally limited quantity) as Beyond Good and Evil. This gotta be one of the cleanest copies around. Visual grade: EX €150 Billy (Sugar Billy) Garner – Your wasting my time Pt I/II – New Day 100 Raw Detroit funk banger produced by Dave Hamilton. Beautiful copy. Visual grade: M-, minor warp NAP €150 Earl King – Feeling my way around / Poor Sam – Hot Line 908 HOLD To my ears the very best release from the prolific New Orleans singer. Top side a mature mid-tempo fingersnapper, flip side a nothc slower but both right in the feelings. Visual grade: VG+ €150 Bobby Dodyne and The Barefacts – Soulful sound of music / Hold on I'm coming – Crown Ltd. 120 Little known late 60s dancer from Alabama that deserves more plays. Some sources claim this to be Artistics lead signer Robert Dobyne but I very much doubt that. Visual grade: VG+, minor dish warp NAP €125 Watch tower – Forever together / Forever, together reprise – Tower High 563-41 Ohio sweet soul dagger. An area with audible feeler marks brings down the grade but crackle clears up as the tune progresses. Visual grade: G to G+ €125 McKinley Mitchell – Party across the hall / She's married already – Black Beauty 301 Chicago crossover dancer with a beautiful ballad flip. Ballad plays with a bit of noise inherent in the pressing. Visual grade: EX, minor warp NAP €120 Geraldine Curry – No matters how hard I try / You're so wonderful – London House 655 Femme ballad from New Jersey with an uplifting crossover flip. Visual grade: M-, medium warp NAP €120 Honey & The Bees – Together forever / Blank – Arctic 152 DJ Copy Rare single-sided promo release that onyl features the often overlooked 'flip side' of Dynamite Exploded. Visual grade: Strong VG+ €120 Nanette – What a way to go / Same – Quintana Roo Stunning stepper with jazzy vocals on the rare private issue. Visual grade: EX, medium warp NAP €100 The Blessed Peace Choir – A quiet place / Matthew 6: 9-13 – Small World Records 032 Totally unknown spiritual 1981 gospel from Alabama (Indeed, gospel is spiritual by default but I'm sure you'll figure out what I mean when checking the clip). Visual grade: EX to M- €100 Brad Spencer & The Swingin' Mozacks – Life in jail / Devoted to you – CBS 12631 Super rare funky organ garage groove kinda vibe. The odd time sig adds a cool extra layer of uniqueness. Visual grade: VG+ €100 Wayne Champion – Boogaloo news / I stand accused – Invictus 1000 Hard to find Chicago R&B that lends its intro theme from Eugene Church "Good news". Plays well above grade. Visual grade: VG €100 The Glorfying Vines Sisters – Results of the judgement / Lamb's book of life – Pinewood 8075 Upbeat North Carolina gospel rarity. Super clean surface, bit of needle wobble but no major warps and play perfect. Visual grade: M-, storage warp NAP €100 The Londonaires – Room 23 / Somebody help me – Trail 1760 Elusive lo-fi Tennessee funk instrumental. Visual grade: VG- to VG €100 Peggy Lee – Times we had / Time has come – Lake 7068 Chicago obscurity that fuses crossover and outsider elements, but in this case the sound clip says more than a thousand words. Really cool and in its own lane. Visual grade: VG+ €100 Dee Clark – That's my girl / It's raining – Constellation 113 Unusually clean copy of this classic Wigan oldie. Visual grade: EX, minor warp NAP €90 Fantasia – Love is free / Life goes on – Fantasia Mid-tempo DC modern that's still somewhat under the radar in spite of its obvious quality. Visual grade: M-, minor warp NAP €90 Tex and Linda – Maybe baby / Runaround heart – Knight 4467 Super rare quirky garage rocker outta Phoenix. Don’t snooze as you may never encounter this one ever again (let alone in this condition). Visual grade: M- €75 Larry Clinton – Walkin' with Willie / This would be my prayer – Lawn 247 Lesser known release from the enigmatic Philly singer. Crude R&B dancer paired with a remarkable deep ballad flip. Visual grade: VG- €65 Pilgrim Wonders Singers – Lay me down to sleep / Man from Gallalee – Davis 122 Ohio gospel shouter that's messy in the best possible way. Shreds. Lot of superficial marks but plays strong. Visual grade: G+ €60 Sandi Havens – Happy / Give it up – Great Atlantic Records 11263 Classic disco with a jazz edge. Tough pull on a 45. Visual grade: VG- €50 Andy Timbs – You can't sit down / Long black limousine – Rixx 101 Rockin' instrumental shredder from parts unknown Visual grade: Strong VG €50 The Birmingham Traveleers – Guide me lord I pray / I need love – BT 80 Private Alabama black gospel. Never shows up this clean. Visual grade: EX, minor warp NAP €50 Leon Eason – I'm in the mood for love / Lazy river – Blue Note 45-1745 Largely unknown 45 only crooning soul-jazz version. Nice rendition and production is of course top notch. Visual grade: Strong VG+ €50 Tyrone Barkley – Man of value / Some kind of wonderful – Midsong 1016 Clean original styrene issue of this classic late 70s dancer. Visual grade: M- €40 The Siamese Twins – We are workers for the Lord / Your mother – Twins 100 Eerie kiddie gospel by Siamese twins Yvonne and Yvette. Later re-issued on Norton with more info on their remarkable life story. Worth checking out! Visual grade: VG+ to EX €40 Apollo – Just don't understand / Long distance love – Pythians 20819 Soulful private AOR from down South. Remarkably good songwriting on this one.
