Chalky Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Thats The Way Love Goes - Phantom anyone got a price or even one for sale?
Guest hammy Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Hi Chalky - tough record to price. It's not very well known in my opinion. I got mine off eBay in 2002 for 30 quid but not sure i still have it ( records locked away currently lol). It lists for about a hundred. It got a good reaction when i spun it a few years back - cool label design as well if you like that sort of thing. Hammy
Mike Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 few years ago was wide range 30-100 other side together worth a play
Russoul1 Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 hi, brought a near mint issue not long ago, a top tune which has been overlooked, a hard one to find value now £100/£150 imo dependant on condition. if i was tempted to sell i would certainly be looking at the upper figure are the disciples a blued eyed band? sounds like it happy hunting russ

Guest hammy Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 always wondered about release date of this Me too Mike - tough to place even after a few listens. It does have that Carolinas sound to it - I'm sure it's out of Richmond VA , but that's about all I can remember. Hammy
Guest Kevin J Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 other side of the record is "Together" - same as The Intruders, and sounds almost identical. someone was selling a copy on here awhile back, and i believe they had it at around 110UKP. i bet if you search the sales on this site you can find it. Russoul1 Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 was a spin back in the 80's and ripe for reactivation me thinks, cheers for prices.yes chalky played it out a few weeks ago with the delegates of soul went down really well. good question regards year of release, would say late 60s maybe even 70ish? russ
Guest Kevin J Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 Intruders version of Together was released in 67, so i would say probably around 68-69. yes chalky played it out a few weeks ago with the delegates of soul went down really well. good question regards year of release, would say late 60s maybe even 70ish? russ
Guest Trevski Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 always wondered about release date of this Strange you mention that, and the blue-eyed bit too. Guitarist Steven Van Zandt, of Bruce Springsteen and E Street fame, fronted his own band The Disciples of Soul, and one of the E Street band that played with him was nicknamed 'Phantom'........
Guest hammy Posted March 16, 2007 Posted March 16, 2007 I'm going to stick my neck out and say this is maybe an old Dean Anderson spin? Hammy

Guest Johnny Mack Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 I see that "Together" was getting plays by Fryer in the Funk Room at the recent Soul Revolution - now that's truly a "crossover" record. Tis a nice 2 sider - I managed to pick up a mint copy off EBay for about $100 six months ago - which I thought was pretty cheap. Dont overlook Laura Lee's great version of Gamble and Huff's "Together" on Cotillion - I think its great - posted a clip in the SOUNDS section on here some time ago - take a listen, you wont be disappointed. Take care John [Note name='mike-' date='Mar 16 2007, 05:55 PM' post='460228'] memory says that was a fair bit of difference have to hear it again
