Anybody have Mint copies of anything at all on French MOTOWN ep's.

I have #'s 535,537 and 501.

Also bit of a long shot. These reggae 45s in Mintish on UK issue if released:-

Techniques Queen Majesty

Uniques My conversation

Heptones Ting-a-ling

Any pointers to dealers who specialise in 60's reggae appreciated.

Finally anyone with a spare WDJ of Perigents "Love's on the Rampage" in Mint. Is that about £50?

Rod,

I have some french Motown EPS - I'll have a quick look through on my return from Prestatyn.

Techniques is on UK Treasure Isle

Uniques is on UK Island

Heptones is on UK Coxsone

Good luck with trying to find any of the three on Mintish copies - Uk Reggae/Ska usually turns up in less than VG condition.

You'd be better off looking for them on Jamaican, the chances of getting a clean one are as slim as Slim Smith. You could try Lion Vibes from time to time but ebay is the best place. Even a mint copy of The Techniques may not sound clean.

I've got a mint copy of the techniques on UK Treasure isle and it is a fairly quiet recording, got no life in it compared to say Barbwire or Mosquito 1 which have got the same backing. I've never seen a copy of My Conversation for sale and I've been buying reggae since Liquidator came out. You can easily find an import of Ting A Ling, if not I'll sell you mine for a fiver if I've still got it

Pete,so how much is that Mint Techniques? I have Heptones on re-issue album but want UK 45 only.

I accept everybody's point about condition of a lot of reggae from way back. However, when I actually collected it from 69-71 there were hundreds and hundreds of cheap Mint copies knocking around Manchester and surrounding areas for 2 bob, so someone somewhere may have this stuff.

Another I'd like is Sensations "Baby Love".

Hi Rod,

I have quite alot of the French Motown EP's but I assume you mean copies that are for sale, well I know for certain that I have spare copies of the following:-

TMEF 545 - The Four Tops - Bernadette / Brenda / I got a feeling / Then.

TMEF 551 - The Four Tops - 7 Rooms of gloom / Darling I hum our song / I'll turn to stone / Is there anything I can do.

They won't be mint but they are excellent.

I'm almost certain that I also have a spare copy of:-

TMEF 536 - The Supremes - You keep me hangin' on / Remove this doubt / You can't hurry love / Put yourself in my place.

If you want me to I will double check over the weekend on the above and also see if there are any more.

Regards

Alan
