Anyone have a scan and / or know if he's anything to do with Bobby Paris?

Ady

Not got a scan sorry, but believe he's Paris of 'Sleepless Nights' fame.

Woah, that's a good one, can anyone verify?

Can't verify, but have read it many times in a variety of places - think I saw it mentioned again on a sales list on here yesterday! Will post link if I find it.

Does it have a weird intro, only half a bar of music before the vocals start?

Haven't got time to upload a clip at the moment but there is one on Johns site: https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/sounds/exists...ON_T_LEAD_ME_ON

Adam.

So who is the Paris (Holley) on Kelli-Arts just credited as Paris and who penned "I Choose You" KA-1003 with Otis Leavill and Carl Davis and how do they fit in?

YES HE WAS JAPANESE FROM THE WAIST DOWN

Its Mr Tears innit? on 4J

Never heard this before seen it loads of times. If its the same guy as the Doc record and it sounds like, then this is the great Hazel Martin for sure.

Who's Hazel Martin and were you drunk too?

It's not Freddie Ken, he was East Coast.

Hazel Martin was vocalist for the Tempests (Smash)

I'd always pictured them as East coast?

They are, Carolinas. And still performing to this day.

I wasn't insinuating that Hazel Martin was Paris. Just saying who he was.

If Hazel Martin was indeed Paris then he was a long way from home :)

I Know it's that Tony Smith II going on line after a late night bender!

I know I was wrong about the Sandi Sheldon being in The Vonnettes (its the singer from The Opals) but the Van McCoy bit was right for the base line.

Mr Tears its him, sorry no bender last night no 6ts allnighter.

Any one got the b-side to sound file out of interest.

If they were so big on the beach scene maybe they spent more time in LA, tried a solo venture on tour. He left the group in 1968 so is Paris his earlier recordings he only joined the band in 1966.

Great production on that Mr Tears only difference from the other stuff are violins and girls.

If he is still around ask him only Tempest on tour I can find is a Punk Indi band.

Hi Ady,

I seemed to remember that Paris on Doc or 4 J was infact Ernie Lucas "Love thief" on Okeh, can't verify though just recall coming across the info in the past.

Regards

Ernie Lucas, Arin Demain, Lord Jim and Karl Evans are reportedly all supposed to be the same guy, and if he was also Paris on Doc and 4J it would make geographical sense. I don't think it sounds like him though, or at least it does not sound like the guy on Blue Star, Skyway and Okeh.
