Half of these aren’t all-nighters.

Dave

take it you are commenting on this list

On here our allnighter section does have the following header

Allnighters & Mini-Nighters (3am+)

We could use this title in full more but it's a bit of mouthful and doesn't really lend itself to web posts etc so we just use 'allnighters' as a grab all etc

Last time we had such a list I think it was used as a sub-heading, this time it was left off, which guess was a mistake

The vast majority of events in our Allnighter / Allnighters & Mini-Nighters (3am+) section and this list do call themselves nighters be it 'all' or 'mini'

End of day we just reflect on what promoters are actually doing, the 3am cutoff does seems a workable solution to the issue we had in deciding where to draw the line when talking about  soulnights or 'all/mini' nighters

Cheers

ok have split the above comments from the 'weekender' topic comments, where they were originally posted

have replied to Dave's points, while awaiting a reply from @Dave Rimmer I have now added 'Allnighters & Mini-Nighters (3am+)' to the dynamic list news item content

https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/news-events/events-the-next-100-soul-allnighters-as-at-march-2024-r5023/

and made a note to use this term more in the future

onwards...

It always has been a bit tricky trying to fit events into whatever section on here, as said what try and do is reflect the teminology promoters are using to title their events and then try to arrange the sections into logical workable sections

Seperate individual section's for both full and mini nighters isn't really feasible

firstly due to the numbers, we would have 2 sections both with a small amount in each section

and then we (the site) would have to dictate to promoters when their event becomes a full or a mini nighter, as in decide and then enforce what would be the cutoff time of the sections, as in somewhere between 3 -8am , which myself don't think is something the site could or should do

Possible ways ahead is to either call the 'allnighter' section 'nighters'?

or merge the section with soul nights

or simply leave as is ?

any thoughts/suggestions out there
