Guest MickD Posted March 14, 2007 Posted March 14, 2007 I believe it was William "Bunky" Sheppard ... I think he had something to do with various Chicago labels including Vee Jay Mickd

Any wise man/woman oblige in my quiery???? William Bunky Sheppard is one of those names that when you start looking you realise he had his hand in a lot of productions. For example Triple S Connection on 20th Century from 1980, moving on a year or so later to the Destiny label on which I have the LP's by Skool Boyz (first LP) plus Saint Tropez Hot and Nasty. On those LP's he doing the lot, prod/exec/writer/bass player, and making the odd pick no doubt ! This one might surprise you though, he was one of the people behind By All Means. Often listed as Bill, Bunky, or William in credits, clearly a man whose quality and talent is unargueable. Martin Snow

Martin Snow Bunky moved to La in the mid 70s, which is why that flavor/livin proof/triple s connection group was by him... also, since his SON Stan Sheppard was in the group! His son Stan was also in the Impalas on Bunky. What's weird is there's a foreign 60s soul record produced by Bunky, I think it's a group called the Marvels and it came out on a Belgian label.
