Paraboliccurve Posted February 16 Posted February 16 I don't normally sell to overseas buyers because it's a PITA but this bloke is begging me to sell a record to him - he's paying £500 so it's sort of worth doing. Does anyone know what HS Code to put on the customs label? I don't want to get hassled by him because it doesn't arrive on time because it's stuck in US customs, basically. Thanks in advance
Paraboliccurve Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 (edited) Actually it looks like it's only necessary for commercial businesses? Edited February 16 by Paraboliccurve misspelled word

Thanks in advance I've sent many records to the US with no real issue. What you put on the customs form really depends on the buyer, whether he wants insurance etc, what the declared value is an so on. I've sent as Gift and nominal $5 value with no issue. One thing I would say is the postal service varies significantly from city to city and state to state. USPS have a good tracking system on line once its in the US.
Paraboliccurve Posted February 16 Author Posted February 16 Thanks mate. Yep, I'm aware I could do it that way but unfortunately the nature of my job means I have to do everything above board and legit. Frustrating but that's why they pay me the big bucks. (They don't pay me the big bucks.)
