Hooker1951 Posted December 29, 2023 Posted December 29, 2023 Just a bit of trivia, keeping it simple who do you think could have done a good copy of an original Soul recording, just two artists and tunes each please, I’m a believer that originals as a rule btw are always the best, I will start things off. Tom Jones vocals on the Great Chuck Jackson song ( Hand it Over) Levi Stubbs vocals on ( Al Kent the way you’ve been acting lately) just a curious bit of fun ML 3

Tony Turner Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Garland Green covering The Sandpipers-Lonely Too Long 3
Graham Anthony Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 How about Bobby Hebb doing "The joker went wild" or Major Lance covering "Under my thumb" great backing tracks that just need a decent vocalist! 1
Woodbutcher Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 Won't be long before some clever clogs uses AI to make this happen , be careful what you wish for ... 1
Popular Post Solidsoul Posted December 30, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 30, 2023 (edited) Oo Wee Let It Be Me Babe". A big record back in the golden days. Super great Northern Soul backing track and production, but spoiled by two very poor vocals. I have always thought Karl Evans and Louise Lewis do not have very soulful voices. I often imagine The Blossoms or The Apollos singing the song with Soul! Or maybe Jean Carter of "Like One" fame! Edited December 30, 2023 by Solidsoul 4
Soulfinger Posted December 30, 2023 Posted December 30, 2023 I always think the ropey vocal on One Way Street - Sharon Tandy needed redoing by Ann Sexton or Veda Brown...
Shaafi P Posted January 3 Posted January 3 George Michael doing a version of Flowers - For real… with an ever so slightly quicker beat don’t crucify me guys
