Julianb Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Not sure this is the correct forum but I've just watched him discussing his love of Motown and visiting the Mecca and Casino in his youth. Ian Levine and Russ got mentions. Does anyone on here remember him going to either? Just interested Mike, please move if not in correct forum 2
Rick Scott Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 Thanks for that in-site on Sir Lindsay Hoyle, would love to have heard that myself, what was it on as a matter of interest please Julian, i enjoy watching this guy as can be very comical but does not stand for any nonsense keeping the House Members in their place 2

Well what can i say, what a lovely Human Being who like a lot of us oldies on here wanted to hear more of the rare side of Soul through the introduction of Early Motown in his case, and of course in my case Stax & Atlantic Records etc. as well, through going out there and checking out the Casino and Blackpool Mecca, kudos to him. What came through too was how much Sir Lindsay felt about the treatment of Black Americans as well as their Music which we as soul fans can relate to as well, Shame he couldn't be talked into revealing his favourite or more memorable Northern tracks he obviously would have heard at the Mecca And Casino as he seemed to know what he was talking about, another time maybe? An interesting insight to a man that i have to say i knew nothing about other than him doing his daily job keeping the pease in the House. Edited December 26, 2023 by Rick Scott word removed 2
Davebanks Posted December 26, 2023 Posted December 26, 2023 According to his twitter feed Rose Battistes Hit and Run is one of his favourite tracks. Who knew? My respect for this man has increased enourmously !! Dave Banks 3
