Rick Scott Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Obviously the feed back will come mainly from our Older Soul Fans or maybe Pop - Rock - Jazz - Blues & R'n'B fans who found SOUL along the way and were Converted. Better Still did you discover some tasty Records just by what Radio Stations YOU were able to Pick Up and Tune In To. Would love to hear about your Finds. Transmitters back then were not like we have today by a long chalk, but because the stations were located around the Country you were able to Tune in to Something. The Likes of Radio Luxembourg and The American Forces Network (AFN) Were the GO TO choice for me initially Rather Than the BBC Network Radio Stations which by and large did not cater for my needs. Then Along Came the Pirate Radio Stations which was a Real Game Changer, at last something we could relate to. The Likes of Radio Caroline (North & South) Radio City, Radio North Sea International etc. etc. 1
Mark S Posted December 11, 2023 Posted December 11, 2023 Radio Luxemburg in bed little transistor radio in a leather case and a mono earplug with braided wire. The signal would fade in and out. I was eight in 1963 and was waiting to hear the Beatles. Happy times 2
Solution Rick Cooper Posted December 12, 2023 Solution Posted December 12, 2023 Radio Luxemburg for me as well. Also Mike Raven's Sunday night show on the BBC and Emperor Rosko on Saturday morning who used to slip in a few soul records that weren't in the charts. 1
