Constellation161 Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Has anyone got any idea of fees I would have to pay for buying a record from Japan. The record cost is 2750 yen which works out about £14.86 with about £9.56 postage. Any help most appreciated.
Tagtag Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Mick, My experience is as follows: If the item is on ebay and subject to the "Global Shipping Programme" then the fees will shown on the listing. If it's not in the global shipping programme the fees could be equivalent to VAT so around 20% of the total (£5) There might also be a small one-off fee on your credit/debit card to cover the currency conversion (maybe £3). Cheers, Carl
Soulgalore Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Don't forget the £8 that Royal Mail add on for collecting the VAT (if outside the Global Shipping Programme).
Tagtag Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 That's correct but only if you hadn't paid the correct amount before shipping. A purchase via Discogs for example.
Danny C Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 I've got a couple of cds ordered, 3000 yen total. Shipping is 1380 and they've added VAT at 876 if that helps.
