Guest Johnny Mack Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 How do I tell a real one from a repro ? Got one on heavy vinyl with a moulded label and I'm pretty sure that other stuff I have on Ranwood is Styrene and stuck on labels. Anyone give me the low-down on this, please. Thanks John

Guest Johnny Mack Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Am totally lost on this one The other side has a black star on the label and has M-1036 on the label credit but M-1037 scratched in the run out groove There's M-1038 scratched in the run out on the WtW H side Its heavy vinyl and the label is moulded ; on the WtW H side it has a mild dose of those indentations at the outer edge like you find on UK released 45's but not on t'other side. Siding towards a bootleg based on the inconsistencies but need a deffo confirmation - ANYONE ? Thanks gang ! should have delta # 71956 boot has 97689 also MR stamp hope that helps rupert

Guest mel brat Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 (edited) I believe the 1975(?) bootlegs were all styrene, (unless it's been bootlegged more than once!) In fact I always thought they were legal reissues done by Randy Wood. I'd argue that the vinyl copies are originals, but I'm here to be proved wrong! Have recently seen what was listed as a genuine demo copy go for only £49 on ebay. (below) Thought it would go for more. Edited March 10, 2007 by mel brat

It is on Vinyl Scratched in Matrix "M-1126-H---------------5" I would have thought more than £49 for a DEMO of Bobby Jason. Here is the Bobby Jason Re-Issue it is Styrene Deadwax = "RANWOOD M-1038-REPL" & Monarch Delta "97689-X" Here is a scan from Popsike.com with the black star as you describe. If you follow this >>> LINK <<< Manship gives a Delta Number (Delta # 71956) but also confirms "MU-1038------5" on Vinyl copies, which your copy has. I hope that this helps Edited March 11, 2007 by 45cellar
