Suparich
I have on Island (pink label) 67, and the later 'palm tree label' 78. A friend, collector, looks down upon me because I don't have it on Phillips - I/he assumed (incorrectly it seems) that Phillips came first. I look forward to directing him to this thread : ) 1 Link to comment Social source share
Tlscapital
Philips is the American pressing. So considered a later "foreign" presses. Fontana for French or German and Stone on Canadian if he wants them all. 1 Link to comment Social source share
Roburt
COVAY TRIVIA >> Back in 1963, the London based jazz guys were swopping over to R&B and many clubs in the capital were doing the same. Alexis Korner started up a Blues / R&B club (The Blues Club !) by hiring the Empire Rooms on Tottenham Court Rd. There his band would play + he'd book other similar acts. One such act being the Graham Bond Quartet. Graham himself having just moved from jazz (with the The New Don Rendell Quintet) to R&B. Also with Graham in that jazz band was Phil Kinorra (aka Julien Covey). By the time Graham Bond had started his own R&B band, Julien Covey had also moved on and was playing drums in the Brian Auger Trio, who became the Brian Auger Trinity ... this is Covey (Phil Kinorra) playing drums on this track .. 1 Link to comment Social source share
Solidsoul
Everytime I hear this I am transported back to the Casino's Mr M's and it's 4.00 am in the morning. The dance floor is absolutely rammed solid with dancers. With the heat, in time handclaps and the intense atmosphere buzzing! Northern Soul in the extreme!
