Nobody is likely to beat Lukie D, although there are perhaps features of the Jamaican scene that make his track record less unlikely - especially if combined with digital download only releases.

One soul artist that comes to mind is Donald Height. He released singles between 1960 and 1976 on

King, Soozee, Jubilee, Old Town, Roulette, RCA Victor, Shout, Jubilee, Hurdy-Gurdy, Honey, Bell, Mayhew, Dakar and Soulful Music.

As Don Day Curtis he recorded for ABC-Paramount. As Prince Jefferies he had a release on Old Town.

15 labels in 16 years.

Thanks for the response and reactions!

According to Wikipedia Lukie D is still active, but no reports on what he has done after 2019 and I haven't been able to find any new releases.

😆WOW some list!!, Aren't Reggae acts known for that as the labels are so tiny (obviously not to that extent), Big hat off to DJMelisimo for even compiling that list- BTW Are you "certain" you haven't missed any out?

From a UK point of view, a pub conversation raised a similar question about the artist with soul releases on the most UK labels. We came up with 19 labels for Donnie Elbert: Parlophone, Sue, CBS, Polydor, New Wave, Deram, London, Avco, Epic,  Mojo, Jay Boy, RCA, Bradley’s, DJM, Klik, All Platinum, Echo, Sugar Hill, Outta Sight.
If you include the Joe Boy release that is credited to him, you can get to 20.

Does anyone beat Donnie?
