Guest karlos1964 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I know many of you guys here are probably 7 inch collectors but just out of interest what's the most anyone has ever heard a 12 inch single go for and what was the tune?
Sebastian Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I guess you're thinking of soul related stuff... but the most expensive 12"s I've seen sell are pop/rock related. Stuff like Madonna's "Erotica" picture disc, U2's "Out Of Control" and Abba's "Sang Till Gorel" - all of them £1500+ pieces.

Guest Lady Maverick Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I saw a promo 12" for LUTHER's MAY CHRISTMAS BRING YOU HAPPINESS going for $800 USD on Gemm.com sometime last year.
Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Best prices I have achieved : Jagg £400, Hipnotic £307, Rome Jefferies £200.
Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Yeah sorry Soul/Disco stuff...don't care how much/little ABBA goes for..!! Anyone want to second Knowing Me Knowing You as 10/10. Emotional lyrics, the haunting meoldy, that tune hits where its supposed to, straight at the heart. "Knowing me knowing you, there is nothing we can do, let's face it, this time we're through." An incredible piece of music, it might not be termed soul, but it hits mine.

Genius pop music at times.

The compliment that was paid was to a particular song, not the artist overall. Recognise talent even if it is not to your particular taste.

Nowt wrong with my ears mate just can't stand anything from them and all the guff like "Abba Xmas themed parties" that goes with it, as i've already said if you listen to most of their stuff it sound so corny "euro" disco and oompah, if I hear Dancing queen again I think i'll go quite mad then violent Lenny

Bigsoulman Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 how many times does it need said that there is no such thing as a right or wrong opinion Thanks Davie, sanity prevails!, i have a wide spectrum of musical taste in every field of it but some people just can't take the point of personal taste, i don't have a problem with people liking groups such as Abba, i just don't like them myself, Lenny
