Fiftyboiledeggs Posted October 31, 2023 Posted October 31, 2023 What is your current favourite label, releasing records? Mine is Athens Of The North. 3
Popular Post Solidsoul Posted November 1, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 1, 2023 (edited) Kent and Kent Select. Only they haven't released anything for a while. I think they are going off track a little lately with there choice of records. Too many left field, slow tunes recently! Edited November 1, 2023 by Solidsoul 4
Rick Scott Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Not got one to be honest, more interested in how good the product is re song, voice, backing vocals and the Band etc. The label may be one thing, but as the saying goes, 'It's Whats' In The Grove That Counts' 2

Mal C Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Soul 4 Real, by a country mile! I guess you could divide this up, into labels re issuing tracks, released or unreleased, from the vaults, or labels putting out newly recorded music in the Soul & Funk and Jazz Genre... 2
Benji Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Am not reallyinto reissues, unreleased stuff or mediocre uptempo retro sounds. I'm all for newly recorded slower stuff. So I'd say best label around is Penrose, followed by Colemine. 1
Emjaygee Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Kimberlite of Canada for me, don't release a lot but everything they have put out is a winner. Followed by Palmetto Street, which is a subsidiary of Colmine specifically for Ben Pirani's output. 2
Rictic66 Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Soul Direction and Big Man tracks and packaging - love the background notes and pics. Also Hit and Run for content. 1
Mickey Finn Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Got to put a word in for Izipho Soul - some of their recent output has been tremendous. 1

Actually, I'm also more after the originals ... but when I do, it's definitely KENT SELECT and DIGGIN DEEP. But they're not the classic reissue labels for me either, as they're mostly unreleased "monsters". Where did Charlie Rich (KENT 004?) have a single release before? I'd love another Select record from Precisions - Send me a Sign ... Have a Nice WE Edited November 4, 2023 by Zanetti 2
Ibiza Steve Posted November 3, 2023 Posted November 3, 2023 Last Bastion are releasing great records. 3
Happy Feet Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Very difficult and awkward question to ask ,and answer , for the most something that covers all tastes, and a few that specialize in a particular genre or style , depending on mood , reissue or new , so for me they all deserve to be nominated, so I guess I'm stuck on the fence ,,,, for now , it's a bit like Sports Personality Of The Year , you know who would like to nominate, and then out of the blue,,, 1
Soulfinger Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 I have picked up quite a few of the Original Gravity releases. Floyd James, Rachel Maxann and Jodie are all enjoyable. I like the reggae stuff too. 2
Dysonsoul Posted November 4, 2023 Posted November 4, 2023 Unless its unreleased, none of them - they are like a disease! 1
