Guest OskarB Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Been listening a lot to this one lately. What's the story?Getting any attention today? What about it pricewise and how rare is it? Old Keb Darge spin, or so i've been told. Fuckin' amazing tune.

However it was a Dave Raistrick import , and was sold at Rock City allniters 1985ish .. Edited March 7, 2007 by Simon M
Jason S Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Think it Keb's old copy that now resides in the collection of my mate from Cambs.
Simon M Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Really not sure on the rarity of this one ..certainly more then a dozen came from Dave
Mark68 Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I think Keb sold his about a year ago. I quite like the record but I think the engineer went a bit overboard with the efx. Check out that over the top echo/delay on the chorus.

Check out that over the top echo/delay on the chorus. couldnt agree more especially the tripped out bit towards the latter part of the instrumental break!!!! out of time...freaky deaky.... dont suppose anyone else has noticed it...coz its quite hard to find....less than 25 i would say....unlike the cloudburst track of 150 copies...
Simon M Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 It certainly came very cheap , to Rock City punters Quite a few odd ball things like this around at the time( mid 80's) , of better quality too .
Souljazera Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 simon..quite a few things were cheap then.....if only.... will send cdr down to you...contact me via email if u wish
Simon M Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 (edited) The question is ... why is their interest in buying these once cheap records now ... Is it because they are now looked upon as rare, and therefore viable? or because punters/dj's want diversity . Edited March 11, 2007 by Simon M
Mark68 Posted March 11, 2007 Posted March 11, 2007 I think its also a case that these records have more exposure now due to the internet etc + these records have since been played by higher profile dj's 20 years later. I'm surprised at the prices some records command nowadays, then again not many people knew them when they were 'cheapies'.

However I think people did not want these records, when they were first imported, because they were just cheap ! Edited March 11, 2007 by Simon M
