Eddie Holland on Strike

Leading up to HDH leaving Motown, it strikes me that the mid-late 1967 period of tracks produced, shows that Eddie Holland had, basically, gone on strike.
He was pushing for a move, talking to rival companies. No new songs were being written.
HDH were probably contractually obliged to produce product, so it looks like Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier had to re-hash old songs to cover this. Brian Holland and Lamont Dozier produced these covers in various artists from mid 1967 to the end of 1967. Of course Motown/HDH recorded covers of their songs virtually from Day 1, but there was new material being written...lyrics usually from Eddie.

There seems to be a view that the "work to rule"" was led by Eddie, and perhaps Brian and Lamont were not so forceful or keen to push the issue. Eventually, of course, they followed suit.
