Steve G Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Poo Pan is another odd label name, and whilst we are on the lavatorial side of things Big John is another, with a picture of a toilet as it's logo.
Gene-r Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I like the 70s soul label which describes me very well............"How Big?"
Rob Wigley Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Johnnie Mae Mathews label "Northern" great name for a Detroit label, but when ask why she called it Northern Records she replied "We couldn't think of a name so we called it Northern after the TOILET PAPER brand !"
Guest sigher the gutter snype Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 one of my favourites was a florida funk 45 del-rays "pure funk" on PHART records dont know what arsenal hole made that one up, lot of stink about nothing really
boba Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 the best label name I have ever seen for sure is a Doowop label called Fellatio. The text is all script, like to make it classy looking. I wish I had a scan now, I laugh every time I see it.

Hakenig Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 I've seen the Fellatio one, hard to top that!! This one isn't bad though, I have a copy but cannot remember if it's any good will have to dig it out for a play.
boba Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Coded euphemisn for "Don't buy this record - it sucks"! I searched ebay and found this, I've definitely seen a better version of the label where it was more readable and the script was bigger, but here's one version:

I don't remember exactly so I'm probably butchering it, but had something to do with a Muddy Waters quote about even being able to make a dud sound a hit.
