lisahurley Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 The new single by gwen stefani has a hook in it that's driving me mad. It sounds alot like something from an NS record, but I can't place it. Please help. The single's called the sweet escape https://www.gwenstefani.com/downloads/ Lisa x
ImberBoy Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 Lisa just listened to it over and over and yes I think there is some thing sampled? Can't ID it? Sounds very bubble gum Americana kinda like Sister Sledge - Frankie? I do know one thing for sure though; I'd slip around in Gwen Stefani's dung like an eel! :-)

FrankM Posted March 7, 2007 Posted March 7, 2007 It's an original neptunes tune, no samples but i can catch a resemblance to frankie.

The single's called the sweet escape https://www.gwenstefani.com/downloads/ Lisa x If there has been an actual sample used, it will have to be creditted in the sleeve notes. If GS has 're-interpreted' a piece of music, rather than lifting an actual sample, she is not obliged to put credits. Ask a 10 year old if you can take a gander at their copy....saves on the embarresment of going into HMV's and looking at a copy.... If it's on Universal, I can probably get you a demo copy... Jo
lisahurley Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 Hi Jo, Yeah I think it's re-sung rather than sampled too. To be honest if someone knew whaty it was I'm not sure I'd know it. I'll have to wait til I hear it out and then go round shouting "this is it! this is it!" Lx PS is slippery eel and dung some kind of anal sex ref? Oh dear...

lisahurley Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 Ha that was the answer to my other querie! Christina Aguillerra sampled Hippy Skippy. Great record, the late That Girl Lynn used to play the instrumental version down at Happiness Stans, aaaah...Happy days, as Phil Tufnell would say

Guest Fatius Bumius Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Intro to Gwen sounds similar to Chuck Jackson/Temptations - What Am I Gonna Do Without You. or am I going mad ?
Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 I do know one thing for sure though; I'd slip around in Gwen Stefani's dung like an eel! :-) You're welcome to her my friend, to me she looks like a pile of dung itself, another equally grotesque Madonna look a like.
ImberBoy Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Don't slag my bird off Martin! I have just split up with Christina Aguillerra and that has resulted in a very nasty restraining order. :-)
