(Major label Northern anthem on the harder stock label. Light lines, plays Ex or better)

(Stunning double sider, lowrider “La la la ooh”, Northern / x-over “Heaven told me so”. Couple of light scuffs, don’t affect feedback, it plays beautifully. Deep gloss on the surface and clean labels, tiny drill hole)

(A definite move away from his early crooner style, big pounding dance floor filler, forceful vocals, fantastic sax break. ARP stamped)

Gentleman June Gardner – Its gonna rain – Emarcy 4050 Ex+ £200 SOLD

(Popular instrumental, filling floors with a hint of ska in it for me, but I like that. Minor edge lift but plays lovely)

(Self-written, R&B influenced dancer, quite sought after looking at past sales)

(Catchy under the radar 60’s dancer, superb backing harmonies, backed with the equally good flip “People say but they don’t know”. Penned dot on top side label)

(The purple vinyl copy, with Ted Taylor on the flip. Ever popular Chicago group dancer)

Eugene Jefferson - A pretty girl dressed in brown - Open 1617 Ex+ £150 SOLD

(Nothing better than a simple arrangement, this beautifully crafted West Coast offering in Detroit clothing craft the backing to Darrell Banks "Open the door to your heart", also covered similarly by Vikki Styles on Odex. H stamped original, with a very light lift on the edge which does not affect play)

Jesse Davis – There’s room for me – Revere M- £1100 SOLD

(Arthur Wright influenced Los Angeles dancer still hasn’t turned up in numbers. It remains rare and even more attractive by the accompanying picture sleeve. Immaculate near mint condition on vinyl and just light signs of handling on the sleeve. Note the first name spelling on label versus sleeve! An impeccable tune for those with impeccable taste)

 

Jimmy (Soul) Clark - Sweet darlin’ - Soul Hawk 001 Ex+ £150

(Detroit class, never fails to lift a listener. Red label but rarer with SILVER text, minor edge lift does not affect play)

High Keys – Living a lie – Verve 10423 DJ Ex £575

(One of those that get the hairs up straight away, distinctive vocals on this big city dancer, and let’s not forget the awesome flip “Lets take a chance”)

Bobby St. James – I’ve been taken for a ride – Watts 901 Ex+ £350

(Lovely west coast double sider with the excellent flip “The sun don’t shine”)
