Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted March 3, 2007 Posted March 3, 2007 I just got that Yates Brothers and Sisters LP out, its really the only good track. Unfortunately I find the vocals on this teenage group LP unbearable for more than one song. Glancing at the sleeve, I see the first of the additional musicians mentioned is Clayton Ivey on keyboards, a name that immediately comes to mind as being the writer and producer of Gwen Owens You better watch out. I reckon it must have been recorded a while before its 1979 release because the photos of the group look too young and sound so much maturer vocally to have aged only 3 years to their next offering in 1982. Their second LP, is on MCA and really has got some excellent tracks on it inc "If you ever change your mind" which a version of also turned up on that Phyllis Hyman CD of unreleased material a few years ago, altho it might have been called "Always" on that if I remember rightly ? Bit off the beaten track from original posting but what the hell, all good threads.
