However... at the moment the link to the northern soul prom on Saturday is not working. Should be worth checking back later. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/Nv86dGXjPQr1GQxQTfgWYS According to the Royal Albert Hall... But that doesn't say if Saturday is being broadcast on telly or not! https://www.royalalberthall.com/about-the-hall/news/2023/april/programme-announced-for-bbc-proms-2023/ <Added> Just checked the Saturday iPlayer schedules for BBC 1, 2, 3 & 4 and there are no proms that I can see. Will have to wait for that broken link to be fixed! I've just tried the link as, like others, I can't see anything on any BBC TV station for this evening. It shows the 'Prom 2 Northern Soul' as one of the listed proms within the TV guide, but clicking it takes you nowhere. As a test I clicked the link for tomorrow's prom (Vivaldi, The Four Seasons). That works and tells you it will be on BBC4. So I'm guessing that you can listen live to the Northern Soul one tonight, but it won't be on TV yet. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/Nv86dGXjPQr1GQxQTfgWYS/proms-2023-on-bbc-tv
Amsterdam Russ Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Link to BBC Radio 3 live... https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/live:bbc_radio_three

Happy Feet Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) As we can only listen Via Radio Three live from 20:00 hrs ( and it does clearly say to be broadcast shortly after ) check out the link that both Russ and I have posted and check the Radio Three schedule for all info . Shall all interested parties meet up here later with a glass or two and nibbles , for a chinwag with an open mind , just an idea if you're not already busy ? Edited July 15, 2023 by Happy Feet 3
Seano Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Good start.. MVPs (not MPVs as was on the website listing ) 1

Seano Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 The guy singing Night Owl doing a great job on the phrasing. Impressed. 2
Seano Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 The woman singing Gone With The wind doing an equally good job, and the orchestra on all of these has been really good too.
Jessie Pinkman Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Frida Touray was the singer on Gone with the wind 1
Twoshoes Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Having to listen on a Chromebook so sounds a bit limited, annoying not being able to see who is singing so looking forward to watching when I'm home with better sound. So far so good. 1

Happy Feet Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) If Carlsberg did Northern Soul , would it be this good ? Edited July 15, 2023 by Happy Feet 2
Seano Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Strangely, although I was disappointed that it wasn't live on TV, I'm enjoying it more just listening via a decent speaker with some good bass (playing from the iPhone onto HomePod). It's kind of more like being there! The quality of music, singing and arrangement is really excellent, can't see it falling off here on in. Twoshoes Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 For a change I can't see anyone having any reason to complain about this, cracking "you're gonna love my baby", my highlight so far
Soul16 Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 (edited) It’s showcasing the quality of the songs for sure. Orchestration is great. Surround sound puts you right in the middle of it too Edited July 15, 2023 by Soul16

Soulandy Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Only wish rat race or bari track was in the play list. Full orchestra blasting those out.....

Seano Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Anyone know if the backing singers are the ones not headlining for the song but listed as the singers for the event, or another bunch altogether? Either way, they're good! 1
Shinehead Posted July 15, 2023 Posted July 15, 2023 Got to say so far it has been great and a credit to all involved , sounds great on my system and creating a fantastic atmosphere. 1
