Soul-slider
How long should a couple of 45s take to come from the USA, Pennsylvania (to the UK)? I paid $8 postage for 2 records on 12th Feb, seller say's he posted them 13th Feb....well it's now 1st of March and I aint had a thing... I suppose if you take out Sundays it's been 15 postal days. Is this a normal waiting time? Am I worrying too much? The thing is, one's a Chuck & Eddie on S.I.G.N that I paid $5 for and I can't wait for it to come!!!! Djr
I live in PA, and the US post office quotes 4 to 7 days to the UK for standard airmail. My experience is that perhaps 75% of the packages I've shipped have met the 7 day time frame, with the balance generally taking longer (2-3 weeks.). Cheapsiderecords
US shipping has been getting worse lately. How about 12 days from Michigan to Toronto?? I can drive to the US border in 3 1/2 hours? Link to comment Social source share

As Pete says , there are no hard and fast rules in respect of delivery from the U.S. for records . I have had similar deliveries to Pete : the quickest I had was from Oakland , California , in just four days . Malc Burton Link to comment Social source share

Steve G
HI, I'VE HAD RECORDS FROM THE STATES IN 2 DAYS THAN ANOTHER A WEEK FROM MOUNT PLEASANT IN LONDON, JOE. Yes I am the same 2 days from California is my "record" - but that was via UPS rather than regular mail. Like Pete I think 3-5 days is what it normally takes here. Six weeks at the other end of the spectrum for me, but I know surface can take longer than that. Link to comment Social source share

Hi Recently happened to me, 4 days + normally. However recently a package postmarked 12-December 06, arrived a week ago, It had no evidence of Customs Activity, which was my first thought, It's anyones guess why It took so long, but at least it arrived OK. Guest lifeandsoul
when i'm speaking to someone in the states or get an email , i sort of in my head think that will arrive in about a week. Usually though its only a matter of days, there are exceptions but not often these days is it more than 7 days, but we've all had bad experiences i guess. Every now and then these packages just take ages for no apparent reason . They do usually eventually turn up however. In all the years I've only ever had one 45 that didn't show up at all. The thing was with mine, I asked for Global Express, which can be tracked. The seller then cocked up and only did global priority which can't be tracked. I'm sure yours will be fine though... That's reassured me a bit. I ordered one from Craig Moerer, who i know is totally reliable before anyone chips in, on the 16th Jan. I mailed him after a month and he reckons it might be the postal system. Maybe it's just very late. Or should i give up hope now? p.s. It wasn't expensive... Guest Kevin J
yes, posting from the states apparently has been really bad lately ... this is the second time in a matter of months that i have posted things and had them not arrive to the uk within a week ... been taking exceptionally long from this part of the country anyway, and i have gotten no response from the post offices other than ... they were posted on date X. yes, i can see that because i have the receipts ... its a bit frustrating and only makes the sellers look bad really. anyhow, from those that ordered from me, if you dont receive your records within the next week, i will refund everyones money and if they arrive after that, i trust that you will do me the favor of repaypalling the money to me. kev it makes me not wanna sell records anymore. Sweeney
I bought 2 records on Jan 26th. Both sent airmail. Strangely enough both came from Oregon (not the same seller however). One arrived on 2nd Feb, other one 1st March. Both postmarked 26th Jan. Go figure! Edited March 2, 2007 by sweeney Link to comment Social source share

Don't give up...we had a pack of records sent from New York....customs held them for 6 weeks. the post mark was on that agreed with the date the sender had quoted. but there was a sticker to say they'd been opened by HM customs...we got them 7 weeks after they'd been sent linda Link to comment Social source share
