Hi , just wondered if anyone can help with some advice. The Velours I' m gonna change. Need to know how  a original differs  from 70s boot?

image.thumb.jpeg.ab1bf738446e240bae0513c5c2b1f254.jpegImage of the boot, this was my copy that I sold on eBay last year - the buyer promptly sold it on the same platform for double what he paid me by kind of suggesting it might be an original...

Basically, the print quality on the boot isn’t quite as sharp as a real one, the sound quality gets slightly distorted towards the end and the ‘bed’ stamp is missing from the run-out area.

Here's a pic of my (assumed!) original. It does look sharper than the other picture. The label on the record the lion is holding is clearer.

But.... I can't see a "bed" stamp or machine stamp in the run out.

Hope that helps.

I could be wrong about the stamp, memory isn't what it was. Yours is definitely an original though Bo and your photo makes a good comparison against the boot.

bed stamp is the easiest way most mgm releases have it

Cheers,

Out of interest, I've just checked a couple of other MGMs that quickly came to mind.

Tony Middleton (end of...)- couldn't find it

Spyder Turner (I can't make...) - couldn't find it

Tymes (What would....) - found what looks like 4 small machine stamped dots like this   :

On some of my records, the dots may just be VERY faint (especially for old eyes!) or masked by marks from their previous life.

Thanks for the information it’s very helpful to someone who is not sure

Definitely a bed stamp in the original.

Also the boot, although very good, will smudge if rubbed with a damp thumb (or anything else to hand, excuse the pun).

The ABC boot, ie, Yum Yums, smudges the same, Eddie Reagan does as well I recall 🤔

The "bed" stamp is seen looking from label to vinyl, looked from other way it's like a "ladies stacked heel shoe" 😉.
