The best northern soul record of all time to dance to is James Fountain - Seven Day Lover

After 30 odd years of loving it, still 'sounds' fresh as a daisy (..eh?)

Would sound good to me in either the oldies or modern room.

You can stomp to it, shuffle to it, whatever.....

Soulful vocals, manic beat, acrobatic breaks.

There is no better.....unless you know different.

In days of yore it would have been

julian Covay - a little bit hurt

or

Valentinos - sweater than the day before

now my current fave dancer is

Billy Eckstine - I wonder why

cos it dont hurt my knees as much as the others laugh.gif

Paris - Sleepless Nights

Such musical variation for the dancer. It has everything.

Very subjective, one man's perfect dance beat is another man's trip to the bar.

In my humble opinion I have always felt that the mighty O'Jays "I dig your act " has got the most perfect dance tempo as well as great lyrics and as always supreme vocals, rounded off by a sublime production.
