Wait, there’s more, following on from the previous 2 evenings posts (check them out plenty of nice ones left) here’s yet another classic set of soul sounds up for grabs.

Happy to send images or sound files. PM to ask questions or reserve.

Intensions - I love you - Blue Light 261 M- £300

(Up-tempo dancer on a small Chicago label, with this group the prominent band in 5 releases. This may be the the same outfit on the USA label rarity, the name Moore appears on many writer credits. Minor edge lift does not affect play)

Dynamics - Woman / Because I love you - Brainstorm 122 M- £170 SOLD

(Another excellent double sider, although ‘Woman’ does it for me. Chicago again, intriguing label design)

IMG_E4042.thumb.JPG.70b4ae82d95b2ad2a2384d8e0511a199.JPG

Lee David - Temptation is calling my name - Columbia 44138 WD Ex+ £275

(Brilliant, top class dancer, will never go out of vogue, nice white promo)

Enticers – Storyteller / Calling for your love - Cotillion 44125 WD M- £50 SOLD

(“Calling” is an out and out group dancer, but the flip “Storyteller” whilst laid down at Malaco is a sublime Groovesville Music publishing, a great version of the original by Mancha and much rarer ‘Right Combination’ version on Malaco itself)

Harry Deal & Galaxies - I still love you / You’re always on my mind - Eclipse 6000 WD Ex+ £250 SOLD

(2 wonderful mellow mid-tempos, on the harder demo. Minor edge lift and scuff on “Mind” side that does not affect play, 3 light biro Xs on Always label)

IMG_E4106.thumb.JPG.e49ff86a25620877d8ad2b6b67b7c0a8.JPG

Lorraine Rudolph - Keep coming back for me - Jet Stream 817 M- £175

(A gritty femme belter that’s gaining some traction and going up in peoples estimations quickly)

IMG_E4044.thumb.JPG.3231e0328eaaf9f18ded6d9aa9a605ef.JPG

Du-Ettes – Every beat of my heart – Mar-V-Lus 6003 M- £40 SOLD

(Classic Chicago girl group sound, perfect, lovely label imprint, a lovely sight)

IMG_E4108.thumb.JPG.552f7573b0f7b03132941764eab5bdd0.JPG

Classic Sullivans - Shame, shame, shame - Master Key 03 M-£120

(What a tune, male group soul harmonies at the top end. Minor edge lift does not affect play)

IMG_E4045.thumb.JPG.750e4fc044154abad630b78dae729ee1.JPG

Gladys Knight & Pips - Stop and get a hold of myself - Maxx 334 Ex £100

(Fabulous track from the Motown starlet and her sidekicks)

IMG_E4129.thumb.JPG.d6bca346b0a7517c30cb1d9ffc9314e5.JPG

Charen Cotten - A little bit of love - Philomega 801 M- £150
(Nice smooth femme soul on a J/G distributed label, the hard one to find, more common on the Perception label release)

IMG_E4113.thumb.JPG.3fe7b4da2f195836b2ff68f43da2d243.JPG

Roscoe Thomas - American girl - Sound Gems 109 M- £400 HOLD

(May be a Frank Fioravanti endeavor, smashing crossover with a hint of Latin, a happy go lucky tune in the the same context as Rufus & Roots later. Youtube comments imply Roscoe may have been a Cop but no other artist info. Rare on this label, clean all over)

IMG_E4128.thumb.JPG.3b7b865930b64879535bdd7143aef6c8.JPG

Porgy Williams - Lonely man’s hum - Sylves 123 M- £250 SOLD

(Its cold out there, wrap yourself up in this bundle of soulful warmth. Sublime vocals on laid down over fantastic group harmonies, floating along on a gentle ebb and flow of oohs and aahs. STUNNING and I always thought the next one up was my preferred. This will take off. Minor edge lift, very feint ring wear, plumb player though. Same catalogue numbers as the next on - odd!)

Porgy & Monarchs - That’s my girl - Sylves 123 Ex+ £100

(What a voice this Porgy chap has, rock solid group soul dancer, drill hole)

IMG_E4050.thumb.JPG.4dddf394951a643e3c73c9fe3abd3fad.JPG

Rufus & Roots - Caught up - T-Jaye 777 M- £250 SOLD

(Only my 2nd copy of this punchy uplifting early eighties dancer, Ted Jarrett owned and out of Nashville, the artist Rufus Hunter also had a couple of releases on the Ref-o-ree label, another of Teds)

IMG_E4051.thumb.JPG.487912ae8d764c56901014bd854fa052.JPG

Wilson Pickett - Let me be your boy - Verve 10378 M- £80

(Released on several label formats, black and silver label seems to be the harder Verve)

IMG_E4121.thumb.JPG.d5e0c26d12fad89b0f1cf44b80c83eb7.JPG

Elvin Spencer - Lift this hurt - Winner 0742 M- £125

(Great crossover, Chicago label, Elvin produced. Minor edge lift does not affect play)
