I should have asked before I went  but are there  any other record shops worth dropping into.in Krakowa. I was in Dillaz record store today and picked up some Polish jazz funk..very cheap really, first press mainly...pressings are appearing of old albums but  in limited quantae , however  they are snapped up by an eager public here on release,  ( there are so many  sample breaks in the 70s stuff) , so the big Q is/was anywhere else I should squeeze in during my stay.

.word up, vintage is getting huge here, Eastern Blok grannies selling their gear and making a killing off it, deffo worth a visit.

Just by luck I found another record store, which the former wouldn't recommend to me, Pauls Boutique, in the old Jewish quarter. I was very surprised to find six racks of motown and disco singles, Gordy, nothing much before 1964, someone needs to have a proper rake through it. I put aside two hours, being disciplined for once. Not a great amount, some crackers, Willie Hutch even, but definitely shed loads of 80s hip hop funk (UK boots as you'd imagine) soul and Polish Communist era Jazzfunk, singles and albums.  All the singles without exception needed a good wash, and some are slightly off centre -but at 4 zloty a pop whose complaining-mainly albums are repressed which is actually better in many cases as the materials used in the 70s was not of a great quality, I was informed. However I found some original stuff and funky bits of 7s on the Tenpress label from the 80s-worth looking at. Warsaw next time for a couple of days is probably one of my finer ideas.
