Hi all,

Extremely rare soul/mod blue eyed dancer -

The Inspirations, Watermelon Man/Tell Daddy (PKC Records). Band member Steve Fuchs states that both sides of this excellent 45 were recorded in a Milwaukee basement in the late 1960s.

Only 100 copies were pressed for family and friends (copies were given away and not sold as there were concerns about royalties that might need to be paid to Herbie Hancock, and Clarence Carter, composer of the flip, Tell Daddy. Because of this, the 45 received no radio airplay at all! The Inspirations comprised John Draws (vocals on Tell Daddy), Steve Fuchs (Tenor Sax), Tom Bloom (Lead Guitar), Bill Tracinski (Bass ),Dale Streeter (Drums), Ron Skaluta

Thanks to Steve Fuchs for the information
