Guest Michael Higgins Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Gladys Knight and the Pips' version of "Hey Jude" is better than the Beatles' (who were too fond of themselves by half, by that point), and Erma Franklin's "Light my fire" is far, far better than the Doors. I also prefer Rotary Connection's take on "Respect", but only because I know Otis and Aretha have much to offer besides.

Paul Dunn Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 The Phantom - Come Back To Me - Karisma (A superior cover version to ) Sonny Craver - Come Back - Stanton
Guest Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 (edited) The Fania All Stars - 'If This World Were Mine' LP track You're joking right? I mean you put this up as a joke. Apart from the fact that it sounds like a variety act recorded from an episode of Phoenix Nights, it's completely out of tune. Or have I missed something!!!! Its not even near Marvin and Tammi... Confused, shocked and distraught of East Dulwich Edited February 27, 2007 by Miles

Guest MARTIN SNOW Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Kimiko Kasai - Killing Me Softly - Two different versions on two different LP's by her and both vastly different to the original and each other ! far more funky in an early 80's style. Both Columbia Jap only LP's 1984 + 1985. Dee Edwards - Come What May - Morning Sun 45 Late 80's Gregory Del Piero - Anytime - Swing City 12" 2005 A soulful house version of the Brian McKnight track and probably my best track of 2005
