past connected accounts

captiansoul

asks for payment via f&f

claims he needs to use f&f due to a 21 day hold policy

uses a offsite link if asked to show an image - normal security advice applies here - don't click any links

yeah tonysoul offered me a big record and alsowanted to do it all by email, but very casually so it wasnt obviously suspicious. used a scan from discogs and wouldnt send me any other pictures or a soundclip so it seemed fishy. was almost convincing though.

i think a good way is to ask for multiple images/soundclips and/or suggest paypal +4%. if they cant supply lots of details then they probably dont have the record!

Damn, I got scammed by romarcrds last week. As soon as I paid him via PayPal f&f for some high end records he deleted his Discogs account…. Payments already went through. Terrible

How do I report a scammer on PayPal?

Log into your PayPal account and visit the Resolution Center. Click “Report a Problem.” Find the fraudulent transaction and then click “Continue.” Click on “I Want to Report Unauthorized Activity” and follow the prompts to open your dispute.

Maybe worth looking into credit card charge back if you paid paypal via credit card?

Out of focus label and in-focus note is a big clue.
